On my old TDI i went to a hydraulic supplier and got two 1/4 bsp taps look like small washing machine taps, screwed these into drain holes, off road switch them off, on road swith them open again easy. Lynall

I have had an egr removal kit on my TD5 for about 1 year now, this consists of a blanking plate for the ex manifold and a flange and pipe assy to replace the egr valve complete, been trouble free as it should be no moving parts etc! Lynall

I have had 3 TDI discos and i fitted elec fans to all of them, they do warm up quicker dont ask me to explain this as it should make no difference what with the stat etc but it does, they also pick up quicker and rev more freely. The 200 only ever came on a few times in a couple of years of ownership, the 300s run hotter so come on more often, all worked okay even with the last two having air con. Perhaps i should add i have tuned all of them and used to attempt to notice any difference in performance at all. Now have TD5 and keep toying with the idea of elec fan but never seem to have any time. Lynall

Remember 300TDI stat should have a bypass piece on the bottom of it some pattern ones do not. Looks like a small washer on a small stick! Lynall

Top switch for abs function?, wifes ML had warning lights come on and lost cruise control, rss and abs functions, had same fault on Audi and wifes earlier merc e-class, new switchs cleared the faults. Lynall

Removed the cat on my old 300 tdi 1998 model no probelms with mot easy to fit, had to drop front roll bar to get it out. Lynall

Just reading the post in the tech archive and there was a mention of an Ian who supplied the gauges any idea where to get hold of Ian? Has anyone fitted one to a TD5? Just posted this on disco forum and was recomended to try on here. Would the old egr blank plate be okay for tc mounting or as it is really only in line with no1 cylinder not give a true reading? I never used the procedure once until once on the way home the temp shot up and the system emptied itself. To fill remove header tank cap, stat blank cap and rad blank cap, fill header tank to correct level until it remains steady, refit header tank cap,fill up stat hole till rad hole is steady,refit rad bung, then fill up stat hole until level steady, refit stat bung, do not remove header tank cap with the bungs removed, done it like this and never had any probs. If plastic caps knackered go to plumbing place and get some 1/2" bsp rad bungs these are a pefect fit and some come with an integral o-ring, cost about £1.00 each. Lynall

I am sure the air con system on the 200TDI is under the passenger side dash, you can see the bottom of the blower motor sticking out of the black hardboard, remove the hardboard and you should see all. Lynall
