Seeing my West Harptree write-up in AWDC (very excited about that, by the way) has reminded me that I did a similar one for CGF:

See you at Somerley Estate!
The way I understand it, you can have it checked at the event but if it doesn't pass for any reason you won't be able to compete, so you'll have had a wasted journey.
That's quite all right - thanks for not running my camera over (or me, for that matter).
Also, thanks to the C4x4 team for the event and the BBQ on Saturday. Now I just need to figure out what was wrong with the car
Oh - and thanks to whoever found our strap still wrapped around a tree on punch two - how I managed to get the whole car off the ground with one tree stump I'll never know.
Traction wasn't a problem, they're good tyres in the mud (especially when you consider the price - £80 each!), and (to my knowledge) we didn't have to winch parts that other cars drove with ease.
The main problem we found was simply the size - we were catching on rocks due to the lower clearance while other cars were driving straight over.
I did some writing about it here: http://www.manracing.co.uk/blog/wordpress/?p=36
I borrowed a few photos from najw and Mr Nick - if that's a problem just let me know.
Excellent, I've already got that winch rebuilt bookmarked.
Running it whilst it was leaking wouldn't have damaged it, would it?
What oil should I fill it up with? That page says 30wt motor oil, but that strikes me as a bit thick.
Without wishing to sound too enthusiastic, how do we go about entering the second round? Do we just fill in another registration form, or can we just turn up with our monies?
No, I've not looked at it at all yet - I'm going up to the workshop over Easter.
What other parts will be worth looking at while I've got it out of the truck / in bits?
