  1. Good evening all, Can someone advise if it is the 32mm bolt that has to be removed from the LHS (Looking down from the top)to allow the oil to drain or is it the 1/2" square drive at the front of the bell housing. Confused as the 32mm wont budge. Thanks in advance. Brian.
  2. Thanks for the tips fellas.
  3. Hi all, Going to replave the 2.7 ltrs of gearbox oil on my 51 plate TD5. Are there easy ways of doing this or am I to adopt the Harry Houdine posse under the motor (No rams, pit or pump mechanisums) and get on with it.
  4. I am not a tester but I think your registration document states how many seats you have so therefore you would need to provide a seat belt for evry seat stated on the document. Why not pop in to a garage for a bit of free advice
  5. Thanks very much for this information and as you point out it is in the exact spot. Can you advise if the Quicklynks T69 will communicate with the vehicle (OBD2), as it just returns comm error every time I try to talk to the vehicle.
  6. Can anyone advise me of the location of the diagnostic plug location within the TD5. Thanks in advance, Pipespark.
  7. Hi team, I got home from work today to find that a fuel line has cracked at the rear of the vehicle just above the fuel filter. I have been doing a bit of digging around and found some info about a recall to rectify this issue as it is a known problem. Can anyone advise where I would look on the NET or the vehicle to see if the recall has been implemented as my VIN number is in the range of the recall notice, aslo is there a time limit on these things.. Cheers, BPK
  8. I should have pointed out that my Disco is a manual box.
  9. Hi, Every now and again my TD5 gives off three warning chimes when she is started up and I cant fathom what it is, owners manual suggests ABS however no other warnings are visible on the dash board. Only tell tale I have is that sometimes when accelarating the revs stay high whilst changing gear, as in there dont fall off when I take my foot of the gas. Thanks in advance. BK.
  10. Hi. I wiring information that is in my Haynes manual so if you need a specific area I can scan the pages and email them across if thats of any help. Cheers, BK.
  11. Hi, Just to conform that I have the same information in my Haynes handbook for the hub torque settings. I replaced my front hub last weekend and it came off without any problems as I had a 3/4 drive extension bar that is 36 inches long, so the nut came off without any problem. Problem is getting a torque wrench that will go up to 490Nm or 362Lb/Ft suggest you ask politely at your local tyre outfit if they would check it for you if you dont have a suitable wrench. cheers, BK.
  12. My owners habdbook advises that this is a Transmission oil temperature warning light, so either the level is low or the oils viscosity has gone off and you need to replace the oil in the gear box. Either way get the oil checked ASAP so as to protect the gearbox.
  13. Hi, Can it be something as simple as the level in the brake fluid master cylinder being slightly low and as you going down hill the level switch is making intermittently thus bringing the warning light ON. Cheers, BK
  14. Hi Graham, I have a 51 plate Disco TD5 GS 57k which I have owned for the last 7yrs and like the others say I have had it serviced at regular intervals by L/R and when it's warranty ran out I had it serviced at an independant 4x4 garage.I have kept all the receipts for things that I have done to her. So as long as your prepaired to get under it, over it or even in to it you should have no problems with the car. My mistake was leaving her idle for long periods whilst I had a company car so that took it's toll on some of the electrics but thankfully now she is going great (31MPG). Go on get one as you wont know what your going to be dealing with until it is yours and trust your insticts when you see any for sale, as the tell tale signs are there to be seen if you stop looking at the shinny paintwork. Good luck with the hunt and dont bag the first one you see..
