  1. Good luck Jad, let me know how you get on. Unfortunately i will have to remove the rear cover, to get at all the rusted bolts The timing cover itself aint that hard to do, just be careful of those bits that are seized! what seals did you get? good luck mate
  2. Yes, Reb Tis me will have another look today, we cleaned all the oil residue off yesterday, in the vain hope that its something else, as we are suposed to be going to wiltshire over easter exploring some "new" lanes and taking a small group over the ones we know. But hey-ho never tell the devil your plans and all that! we are also experiencing some difficulties getting the correct seals, the part No's have been superceeded and i think they gave me the dust cover seal in lieu of the outer oil seal!! I have checked the part No's to Both bearmarch and LR catalogues and thats why i think we got one of the seals wrong The plan is like you said do all the rear seals as a minimum, but probably do them all. We checked the Part No's to that website you sent us to for expander unit and springs They corroberate what the catalogues state. But my local indie insists the ones he sold are correct. Just don't want to get halfway through or even worse finish it, and find out it is leaking due to the wrong seal!! Well, I guess its fate, as we knew we had to remove the rear cover, as i wasn't happy with the taps i had to do, when the bolts/ studs snapped back in July! stud removal kit and helicoils will need ordering too now! Whats the betting more snap again this time around! cheers
  3. Thanks for the link. Iam a bit confused as ours isn't leaking like that we had a small amount around the front wade plug area, that dripped onto the front of the sump we have cleaned it all, so we can see where its coming from cheers
  4. Hello all. here's my first techy question We found oil leaking onto the sump area at the front, adjacent to the wading plug hole. there's not loads and the cam belt (which was replaced in july) is not contaminated, when viewd through the wading plug hole with a bright torch. Now is this the oil seal on the crankshaft that has gone? I beleive this is a pig to do! any advice would be gratfully appreciated. many thanks
