  3. Not really sure, my local mechanic did it when it was in for a service. As far as I can tell there can be several reasons for this. In my case the window was clearly not straight - the mechanic said he took the interior panel off and the window is mounted on adjusters - having adjusted it the window shut right up under the top seal which it wasnt before. Anothe problem can be the seal - have a hosepipe and run water all around r=the window - if this is the problem you will see water going down the inside of the window. Also check the bottom seal is not letting water between the bottom of the glass and the door panel.
  4. Recently bought a 2004 Freelander Td4 Sport. Very pleased with it - had a tailgate water leak, but seem to have fixed that by adjusting the window. When we bought it we wanted heated seats but it wasnt in this car, however, on inspection there appears to be heating elements and wires under the seats, and with a little further inspection the blank switches either side of the radio are attached to a whole load of cables which match the cables going into the seat bases. Did LR fit the heating even if it wasnt ordered and can we just get some switches and perhaps a relay and get ourselves the heated seats or is it not that easy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
  5. Hi, new to these forums. Been looking for a while, but now we have bought our first Land Rover in quite a few years. Havent had one since an old Defender which was enough to put you off land rovers for life. It didnt work though and yesterday we collected our 2004 Freelander Sport Premium TD4. Very happy with it but we have a few questions and hope some on here can help. When we viewed the vehicle the tailgate window was faulty and wouldnt shut properly. The guy sellin git said he would fix it which he has done, but the window doesnt look aligned properly and hence doesnt appear to shut fully. The glass looks to be over to one side too much. Hopefully we can fix this fairly easily. There was also water in the boot in the recess under the floor. I'm hoping this was caused by the leaky back window, but could it be coming in from somnewhere else? Service record is ok, without being brilliant. We are going to get it serviced asap. Is there anything we should in particular get done at the service. I see alot on here about the crankcase breather and will get that checked. When first started the engine is slightly rough when cold, is this normal or could there be a problem of some sort? Other than that most seems ok with it. Will get some pictures up asap. Thanks for your help in advance.
