  1. I have just invested in a 110 and the intention is to sell my 90. The extra passenger capability is the main aspect, a 90 van is a bit anti social if you want to go Green laning. The other factor that influenced me is that I have a caravan and was using a Kia Sorento to pull it. Just could not face 5 hours towing the van with a 90 and the Sorento has been traded for the 110. The 110 makes it more comfortable towing and allows more space for family and the obligatory Border Collie. The off road aspects are slightly different but I believe that once you get the feel of the vehicle you can then adapt your approach to tight stages and mud baths. Tommy
  2. I am about to take delivery of my 2007 defender XS and being in the habit of fixing things myself was looking for a source of workshop data. I found the TD5 stuff in Rave very helpful along with the haynes manual so was looking for similar facilities for the newbie Many Thanks, Tommy
  3. Well tested it this morning and no change still all over the place. I decided to then do the rear axle lower links and guess what when I took off the second one (N/S) the bush that attaches to the chassis was shot, the rubber on the front end had sheered and was able to move about 5mm. That I think would allow the axle to twist. Hopefully this will be the cause and the cure. Fingers crossed. Tommy
  4. Thanks for that looks, like a two day job if all that has to come out to fit the swivel pin bearings, here's hoping the new bushes on the front radius arms, panhard rod and new steering damper will have cured it. Finished too late to test it tonight will do so in the morning, and if the problem is still there I will do the lower links on the rear axle. Might have to limp to the event on Sunday if its the swivel bearings and do them next week. Again thanks ever so much. Tommy
  5. Tried searching the site for the walkthrough by Les and cannot find it, would some kind person give me the link as I was looking to see how hqard a job it would be or if I should empty the beer kitty and get the garage to do it. Many Thanks, Tommy
  6. Font calipers all freed up last month and new pads fitted, they were stuck prior to that. I spent an hour trying to get the panhard bolt out and gave up, my 11 stone on the end of a torque wrench was not getting the last bit off the nylok nut. Your trick with the jack is my next approach, here hoping else its the angle grinder me thinks. Glad to hear the Swivel pins did the trick, I will have a good look at mine while its on the axle stands. Again thanks for all the advice and asistance Tommy
  7. Thanks very much for the input, most helpful, looks like a week under the wee bandit Tommy
  8. Panhard rod bush according to LR mechanic is fine, tried to lever to see if there was any movement and there was none. I have ordered a set of poly bushes that should turn up towards the end of the week but was going to start stripping down tomorrow if I have an idea what to strip. Thanks Tommy
  9. need some help fellas, my TD5 90 has developed a problem with the directional stability The symptoms are that while accelerating it wants to pull left and when I take my foot of the accelerator it dives to the right. Had the track rod and ends replaced (bent the rod on a farm track with deep ruts and rocks), tracking all lined up withe laser gear at the local tyre depot. LR mechanic checked the wheel bearings and they are fine. Have a minor amount of play on the steering damper bush, that will be replaced early next week parts on their way, but not seen as the cause of the problem Is there anything that you folks can suggest as I was hoping to get it up and running next week to marshall at a CC event. Really appreciate you help, Thanks
  10. I went to Paddocks, about £230 but I got £100 back when I sent the faulty one back. That included a new drop arm and ball joint Tommy
