  4. after swapping my 2.5 n/a ex mod engine for a 2.8 isuzu the temp guage rises steadily to the end of the read within minutes of running, now the heater pipes get warm but the engine seems cool ,i can rest my hand on the stat houseing when the quage shows red hot and the rad pipes are cool and the expansion bottle cool is it a temp sensor difference between the LR engine and the isuzu ie resitence factors very odd what ever it is thanks jason

  9. i went for 30mm spacers out of billet for mine only time will tell they give you a better turn circle as a benifit
  10. after getting my replacement box i found the tourqe convertor hanging on the shaft in transit now i think its ok but just a bit nervous after losing one box so the zf hp4-22 box is there ment to be a little play on the centre shaft as it goes into the box shaft and is there any way of testing the pump before i sling it back on thanks jason

  16. anyone know how tight my torque bolts to the flywheel should be on an isuzu
  17. thanks les my engine is the isuzu 2.8 so i guess the startermotor is my way in ( i hope so) thanks again j
  18. hi Les sorry to be a nuisence but can you just go into detail on this point With the autobox fitted to the engine, check that the converter will rotate freely and has a small amount (about 2mm) of end float. Bolt the converter to the flex plate using loctite or similar. 1 end float ? 2 how do you bolt with gearbox in way? thanks again Jason
  19. hi les the box and engine where joined and i took them out together but split them on a bench the convertor stayed on the engine then i put the gearbox in the defender first then mated the engine back to it makeing sure the shaft of the box hit the centre of the converter , but it seems a bit more complex than this so reall i need to (whip!) off the box and check what damage ive done
  20. i lined the box up with the convertor and pushed the 2 together making sure the shaft went in the middle of the conv then nipped the bell bolts till they came together then about 10mm apart there was a loud clunk then they came together like butter?
  21. damm would a loud clunk sound like a damaged pump when i bolted it together a loud clunk came when the box came to the bellhousing what you reckon?
