  1. Can anyone help with the part numbers for the rear brake pipes on a Disco1 rear axle 1991 I believe. This is axle conversion on a 1984 '90. Cheers!
  2. Thanks for the images, they are a good reference. Because I am buying tyres mounted on wheels it is much cheaper to buy from Paddocks than anywhere in Norway, they subsidies shipping, add to this weak sterling it saves me a lot doing it this way.
  3. Has anyone got pictures of tyres size 265/70R16 on a 90 or 110 please! I have a 90 with BFG All Terrain 235/85R16, which I am very happy with, I am now struggling with snow tyres from Paddocks (cheapest international shipping to Norway) as they only have Snow Grabbers in 265/70R16. This is what they recommend so I am happy with that, but don't want to get caught out putting a very old Landy in something that doesn't look right. Any other feedback on performance etc would be appreciated.
  4. I am having trouble identifying the caliper bolts on the rear of my defender, which had an axle change to what I beleive is a Dicovery 1. The bolt has a thread of 11mm (7/16) and a hex head measuring 15mm across. The bolt has 14mm unthreaded at the top and a total length is ca 43mm. I ordered; 591065, BOLT 7/16 UNF CALIPER REAR - DISCOVERY 1 - RANGE ROVER CLASSIC But this only has a 9mm thread, 14mm head. Any help with this would be much appreciated.
  5. Can anyone help with where to by chassis no. punches, and what height they should be? Cheers.
  6. Yep, thought I had eliminated the earth issue, went back and did a more sturdy job bolting an adapted jump lead to by pass the existing, seems much better. So fingers crossed for winter! Cheers all.
  7. Can someone help solve the problem of a very slow turnover on my 90 (disco 200tdi convert), battery and connections seem okay. I saw on a youtube presentation that the fact the starter is turning over means that the starter is not the problem, can anyone confirm this? Would love to not have to struggle getting this starter off, I have to work outside in the first signs of a Norwegian winter, so any tips on routine and further checks this are very welcome. Cheers.
  8. Ordered the documents from Heritage archive, very helpful link, cheers.
  9. Can anyone help with contacts or site that will give me documentation to validate my 1984 Defender was fitted with three front seats. It was registered in Norway five years ago and the authorities have just informed me it had only been registered in Norway for two, and insisted I removed the centre seat. This is a real pain as this department are beyond the "jobsworth" category, they sleep in red tape over here.
  10. Problem solved, it was indeed the reverse switch stopping full engagement! Cheers.
  11. It is the original box on a 1984 naturally aspirated diesel Defender, with a disco 200tdi replacement engine. I will check the reverse light switch, any other tips welcome.
  12. Can anyone help with any clues or miracle cure? I guess it will be gearbox out which fills me with fear in the middle of a Norwegian winter with no cover! Any tips received with thanks.
  13. I couldn't get the first link, but assume it may be the same product as posted by Jack, thank you. I have ordered one and hope it solves things. Cheers.
  14. I am trying to neaten things up in the engine bay after the fitting of a discovery 200tdi into my 90. I have kenlowe fans fitted with the sensor wire siliconed into the top radiator hose, which is giving me leaks and headaches. Can anyone tell me if it possible to use the switch on the top of the thermostat and bypass the Kenlowe switch all together. I would appreciate any information, not least what the switch on the engine was intended for and the temperature it will trip. Cheers.
  15. I have a much loved 1984, 90 which came to me 15 years ago with original steel wheels (5.5" wide?) fitted to these were 7.5x16 tyres. I realise that the wheels are not recommended for this tyre width, but want to avoid fitting smaller tyres. My first choice after reading many forums on the subject is BFG AT's 235x85x16, are these a better fit than the 750x16 on the original wheels? I am happy with the original look of the wheels on the car and would like to avoid changing to another style, did the 110 come with a wider wheel and larger tyres?. I haven't been able to find the original wheels in the wider size, does anyone know of a supplier? Cheers.
