  1. getting close to the `big turn on ` soon and contemplating fluids !!!! , which antifreeze and how much goes into a 300 tdi defender ( it was a 96 disco engine ) it may seem a simple and stupid question but I have never had to do it from `dry `, thankyou in anticipation .

  5. slight problem , i dont have a torque wrench that does degrees !

Using 96 300tdi from a disco into 90 , going to put air box bracket on engine , I have to take out 2 outside head bolts , does anyone know the correct cold torque setting for putting them back , and should it be o.k to just take out put bracket in and re torque ? Thank you chaps , I like this forum more than the other I am on as it is getting very political !!!

  8. As above , the mounting rubbers that go on air filter cylinder that keep it on tray , for a 300 90 please , I have the straps but rubbers are u s . Many thanks

As you know I am doing a new build , I know the old disco inside out , but the 90 is a learining curve , so , from master cylinder do the pipes go to prv or just to brakes direct , I have the master from the 90 and a prv from the disco , still using disco brakes and axles , if it has a prv where is it mounted ? Thankyou in advance .

  13. an I buy the electrical connectors seperate for the wires , sorry not very good picks .This is what I got back from the numpty that cut it off !!!

  15. Enquiring about part number for fuse box , engine bay on bulkhead for 300 defender , some numpty has cut the original off !!!!

  18. Got a bucket full of door hinges for my new build , I know there are extra holes for wing mirrors but can someone tell me which way up they go ? as there seems to be a `fatter` edge the the hinge . Many thanks troops
  19. its the green stuffs , i had them on my last disco with sl otted discs , they were useless , i even managed to rip the pad of the backing plate , rubbish
  20. Thank god for that , no EDC it is a mechanical pump , happy days , the job might get easier !!
  21. As per my other thread , I am putting the 300 engine and box from my old auto disc , into a new chassis 90 , question is can I keep the same loom from the disco , or atleast the engine loom , will it conect to the rest of the 90 loom ?
  22. yep , there is always a way around these problems , people keep telling me anyway !!! got two , 86 pence against L/R part £5.99 each !!!!
  23. will shorten them tomorrow , saw a friend tonight and told me about a place in the next village that makes hydrolic pipes up , and showed me some ally washers with rubber inside , tried one and it was a reasonable fit , so will go over tomorrow and get better fitting ones , will report back when I eventually get chance to fit them , still trying to spray tub up to get some panels on , cannot put cooler on till cage is on as it has extreme wing kit on front which attaches to main cage , so all mechanical work is mounting up as I cannot get time to spray panels , have done bulkhead though , put new footwells in sprayed up in orchid white .
