  1. Hi All I just thought you would like to know,A little while ago I posted about cd changer packing up so I took it off and opened it up as I had nothing to lose. I moved a big cog that operates the lever selector put the magazine back in then plugged it back in and hey presto it worked,I am keeping my fingers crossed at the moment but it is still working.
  2. Hi FreebieFreddy I tried your suggestion but no joy,Looks like I will have to replace. Thank You. Roger.
  3. Hi Please could someone help me with a problem with my cd autochanger. It suddenly stopped working,I have used a cd lens cleaner and made sure the cd's are clean and are up the right way but it keeps coming up with "No Disks". The radio works and all the connections under the drivers seat are ok.If anyone has any advice before I have to take it to a shop it would be appreciated. Thank You.
  4. Hi Thank you rustymark for your reply I will take your advise and look at that site and make sure I get tyres changed round when I get new ones fitted to rear. Again Thank You. Roger.
  5. Hi All I would like your help,I have had my Freelander for a couple of months it is a 02 TD4 Auto the thing is I am retired and need some tyres but at the moment I can only afford two. I do not do many miles about 3000 a year and the two front tyres have about 6mm left on them I have read on this site about having the best tyres on the rear would it be ok to just get a pair for the rear for now or would this damage anything. Thank You in advance.
  6. Thank you Dorsetfreelander for the reply and the link,I will do as you say and replace the pipe and clean out the EGR also I have purchased the BMW mod for the crankcase filter as I dont know if this has been done and will get the garage to fit when I take it in for service. Thank you.
  7. Hi All Could someone please tell me where the oil is coming from it is the big 90% shaped pipe on the front right hand side as you look at the front near the battery it looks like it goes into the inlet manifold,I have attached a picture with a wiggly arrow pointing to where the oil is blowing from.I have only had the 2002 Freelander TD4 ES Auto for about a month and have not had time to get an oil change and service. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank You. Roger.
  8. Hi all I may be stupid, I am quite a few times but I have owned a few Automatics and they have all had dipsticks to check the fluid in the Auto Box . I cannot find where to check fluid on My 2002 Freelander td4 es Auto.I looked in the handbook and there is nothing. Thank You.

  10. Hi Thank you very much rustymark I can now go ahead and have a look with a bit of confidence,Will it be in my interest to purchase a set of Torx driver set or see if I can borrow some just for this job. Again Thank You. Roger.
  11. Hi All I have read about changing this filter for a BMW mod but I am new to Freelanders and not a very good mechanic but I like to try. Please can someone explain how I find it and what to do and also I have read on other sites that you can just change the innards of the filter which is cheaper and easier. I don't know if I have explained myself properly as I am retired and a slow learner. 2002 Freelander td4 es auto. Roger.
  12. Hi I have bought a set of aluminium side steps from Direct 4x4 for my 2002 Freelander 2.0 TD4 ES and they supplied a set of bolt like hooks that go into the box sections.I have found these quite difficult to tighten up after looking on this forum I see you can fit Rivnuts into the holes and these are better. Please can someone tell me what size Rivnuts to get as I have seen them on E-bay for sale and I want to get the correct size for the holes on my vehicle. Thanking you in advance. Roger. Ps I am not a very good mechanic but I like to have a go.

  14. Hi All I am new to this as this is my first post I hope I am in the right place it looks a good site.I have just purchased a 2002 Freelander TD4 ES Auto and I want to get the cambelt and oil change done at my local garage as I don't trust any car dealers when they say they have changed it and also I have been reading on this site something about crankcase breather problems and a BMW modification.Would it a good thing to get this done at the same time.I am retired and only using the vehicle mainly to travel down south to visit friends using the motorways. Thank You. Roger.
