Thank you verry much, v8bertha and Llanigraham! Woow, I must say that it's something unexpected, all the help from you guys... I will check what is macking that sound underneath the car, but I don't know when because I have a lot of work to do, I travel much theese 2 weeks. (work) I will ask you, if you can tell me more about what LR2luver was sayng, "earthing studs located near the battery", or how they look (what are those?), please. Behind the battery I found the cars computer ( I think), and something that was looking like a "reciever", a small box hanging, dislocated... I'm telling that seemed like a reciever because when I pushed the two buttons from my key remote control, near that box, it was working better (the central locking). Thank you verry much again.

"earthing studs located near the battery", or how they look (what are those?) 2. "condition of the 2 supposrt bearings either side of the VCU" - what is the VCU, where is it? thanks.

Hello, In first place I must say that I'm new to the Land Rover world. I've just bought a Land Rover Freelander Targa 1.8i (year 1999). 1. After removing the battery, for a quick charge, the two button remote control that I have, stopped working. I couldn't start the car, couldn't open the doors (only with the key).... I have changed the battery from the remote control, and after a day of reading the forums, I started the car, but with the remote "glued" to the key contact.. behind the steeringwheel. I have tried 3 diffrent ways to reprogram or reset the remote control, but no result. Naw the car starts normal, but the doors wont open (central locking doesen't work), only if I am close to the car, and the remote close to the window . Please help me if you can with this, because I want to open again the car from...distance. 2. Another problem is with the passenger door, it doesen't open or close from the central locking, only by hand. But when I Push the close/open button (central locking) I can hear that the door tries to open... I mean you can hear that click/clack... 3. And another problem I have with the "air speed" button. The position 1 and 2 doesen't work (dead ventilator), it only starts blowing in 3 and 4 position. I have to mention that before I bought the car, the owner didn't used it for one year. 4. Last thing.., when I put it in gear, or changing the gears, I can hear something from underneath the car, like engaging and disengaging the clutch (but more like the differential because it comes more from the back), like something hummering with a hummer. Please help me if you can with these problems. Thank you verry much!
