It has gone into Lookers Landrover today, they have had the dashboard out, it turns out it's corrosion in the loom. They have ordered a new loom, luckily it is covered under the Landrover Approved Warranty I have with the vehicle otherwise I dread to think what it would have cost me. Dale

Hi Guys, Just bought my 1st Freelander a TD4 HSE Auto on an 06 plate. I love the car but having a slight problem with the Sat Nav. When I enter the route and then start it says on the screen, calculating route and stays like this all the time. I am not too bothered if there is a problem as I bought the Freelander from a main dealer so have a 1 year Landrover warranty with it, but I didn't want to take it in if it is just me doing something wrong. I have checked the drive and it plays CD's with no problem at all also the Sat Nav disc seems okay, there are some very fine scratches on it but I wouldn't have thought they were bad enough to cause a problem. Hi Everyone, At last found a Freelander, pick it up next Friday. It's an TD4 HSE Auto in Rimini Red and it's got Cruise Control! on an 06 plate. Got to pay £425 a year car tax to the robbing b******ds but I love the car so it will be worth it. Paid a bit extra for it as it's from a main dealer but comes with a years Landrover warranty and is being serviced before I pick it up. Roll on Friday Dale

Thanks Simon, That's just what I wanted to know, I am going to look at a 56 plate SE in Sevenoaks and a 06 plate HSE in Reading tomorrow, looks like I will be doing the whole circuit of the M25. Cant wait (not)! Dale

Hi Can anyone tell me what the difference is in the trim between an SE & HSE Freelander 1 on a 2006 (56) plate. I have Googled it without any success. Thanks Guys Dale

Hi Everyone, New to the forum and new to Freelanders. I am looking at buying a 56 plate TD4 in the next two to three weeks and was wondering what the reliability was like on the Freelander auto box. I haven't had an auto now for a few years and just fancied getting one again. I don't plan on towing anything heavy just the occasional towing of my small Erde trailer. Also how does the fuel consumption fair compared to the manual. Thanks for your help. Dale
