  1. Haven't looked Mark, I WILL now having seen that Will
  2. Dunno Steve, added to my list of things to check at the weekend Cheers Will
  3. as for nearly 35mpg its running 255/85x16 tyres, and the pump has been tweaked as per the thread in the Tech Archive on here As I said first off its got oodles of low torque and goes everywhere in top gear on a whisper of right foot. Will
  4. Cheers folks. Filters are all new so I'm fairly certain they are clear. I'll give the lift pump some investigation next Pretty certain the rad is OK the water is beautifully clear still so there obviously not much corrosion going on in there. The rad is probably a tad blocked externally though as its regularly pushing a bow wave through a river. I did drive up the legenday Porlock Hill last week on low throttle and the temp didn't rise a bit, under load with the sankey or hoofing on it does. Will
  5. another thing, it is running a tad warm under heavy load (never done that before)... Will
  6. I'm detecting a slight decrease in mid to high rev power in my 110. I've had it years as most of you know so I'm fairly atuned to its working and its not much but it feels a bit underpowered once on the move. Low down torque still seems superb, 2nd gear on a 1in4 hill will pull virtually from tickover. MPG is brilliant still, nearly 35mpg to sussex and back last month. Servicing is all up to date all filters are less than 500miles old and I ran injector cleaner through it pre MOT a few weeks ago. Any suggestions? Will
  7. I've discovered through years of detailed study that if rain is going to happen it'll be whenever I decided to take the dogs out or have to work on the Land Rover outside. Its hopeless relying on weather forecasts here, the north coast of Exmoor has 1000' sea cliffs and they make their own weather, usually involving water of some density be it fine mist or zonkin girt horizontally fired missile raindrops Will
  8. Looks innocent enough but I'd got serious transmission wind up and the gearboxes were jammed solid. Dragging a dead 110 from a stinking swamp with the wheels not turning was no mean feat! This forums very own Les Henson causing utter chaos in Cornwall Will
  9. Just renewed my 110s insurance with AF, I would have shopped around but I hadn't realised it was due until the day before it ran out due to AFs reminder going missing in the post apparently Mine has gone up to £201pa for FC on a modified 110 (lifted, caged, quaife diff, winch, added electrickery etc), sub 5000miles. Just me driving and full no claims. Whats everyone else paying this year? Will
  10. I bet its ya thumb I reckon we've said everything between me and you Nige, Game over I'd say Anyone for a beer now thats sorted? Will
  11. Suppose I'd better chip in for the hell of it I've been a Moderator on there (LRA) for years and on here before I got busy a few years back and couldn't find time to read both forums, this being the more tech forum and me being hopeless with spanners I felt LRA was where I'd devote my time more usefully. I'd like to think I've still got a lot of mates on here Trev (Bigfoot) did make a proper dogs dinner of managing the whole forum 'upgrade'. On a tech level I can see how, Trev is a bloody busy person and its obviously been a bit rushed, a lot has been sorted since it went live that could have trialed before it did. Had we have had more input as Moderators it would have been a smoother caper I'm sure, hindsight eh! There are rumours that LRA has been sold to LRM, I don't know if thats true, it is not what Trev inferred to us Moderators. If it is I'd be a bit miffed we weren't told before but it won't alter my commitment to maintaining the site. We have NEVER been asked to moderate in favour of LRM or promote them in any way as Moderators and unless they pay me I won't LRA has always been more about banter than tech, a lot of the time its total twaddle being posted, I don't have a problem with that as long as its in the right 'forum'. This site (LR4x4)has some of the finest green oval biased tech heads on the planet and long may that be the case. The LRA members are mostly genuinely straightforward cracking people who eat sleep and breathe Land Rovers and will do anything to lend a hand. Some have extensive overlanding experience, some have just made every elemental mistake first hand and can offer sympathy (that'll be me then), some are just sharp witted pee takers. Its not everyones cup of tea but claims of cliqueyness are unfounded, the forum has always been very welcoming to anyone who wants to join in. Vive la difference! Will
  12. I did mine a couple of years ago with Exmoor Trim kits, easy enough job if you don't rush it. Will
  13. We have had disputes settled by Paypal, I'd recommend contacting them. Why should you lose out because some muppet couldn't get his arse in gear to arrange collection by the courier? Will
  14. Nige, my 255/85x16 BFG Muds were 33.4" tall when new, 255mm is 10inches near as dammit. I can't fault this size on or offroad. Will
  15. I had a great day, forgot half of what I went for, should have made a list Ran into several folk I hadn't seen for a very long time, drank lots of coffee and laughed a lot I did get a new clutch slave cylinder for the 110 so no excuses left I'm just going to have to go and get the gearboxes back in. Will
  16. You need to speak to BigSi110 over at LandRoverAddict.com Simon is fanatical about the cleanliness of his pride and joy, what he doesn't know about polish isn't worth knowing Will
  17. shop online for the best price then go to a back street tyre place and ask them to beat the price, they usually can. £130 will buy BFG MTs from Devon4x4 by the looks of their website. Will
  18. Carpets? who they hell thought carpets were a good idea? You should see the state of the carpets in my Mini and I hoover that every weekend I don't take it offroad (those of you who saw me get it stuck on the beach can shut up), If I had carpets in my 110 they'd smell dreadfull in no time at all. Will
  19. £1.37 a litre for derv here Veg oil is £1.06 in out local Londis by the litre bottle, if you buy 3l bottles its £1.23/l Will
  20. Having exhibited at loads of NEC shows Sunday wasn't my first choice of day but its the only one we can do with work/kids/dogs etc Will
  21. http://www.autosportinternational.com/public/?gclid=CJDhheb8oqYCFQJO4QodyUqrZw I've got my tickets up anyone else on here going? I'll be there on the sunday Will
  22. I changed to a NAS spec reversing light last year and have been pleased with it, a couple would do a splendid job I'd think. I have a pair of worklights on the back of the 110 as well, they are just switched via an illuminated dash switch. The only time I use them for reversing is when I am in amongst the scenery at night with more to contend with than kerbs. Will
  23. I was going to say that ^^^ a nice wealthy arab buyer might come out of the woodwork for a classy RRC A 110 5 door commercial station wagon would probably be the easiest to sell I reckon. Will
  24. Driving through virgin snow Will
  25. I'm of the opinion that you need two Land Rovers for offroading. A kitted out one for playing at P&P sites a competing and a completely standard (or appearing to be so series one or two for laning, wear a flat cap and wax jacket in a classic LR and have a pipe hanging out your gob and I reckon theres not a rambler in Britain who would challenge you Will
