  1. Hi all I have been following this forum for a while but this is my first question. I have a 98 Disco 1 300tdi auto with EDC. I have had issues starting her in the cold so recently I changed glow plugs and lift pump and I had no more starting issues. This lasted for about a week. One cold morning I started the landy and it cranked over strongly but just wouldnt catch. I opened the bleed screw on the filter and air and fuel spurted out until the engine caught and started fine. So air in the fuel line I thought. I traced the fuel line all the way to the tank, no leaks. Cleaned out the sedimenter(pretty dirty), replaced the fuel filter and replaced the injector bleed off pipes. The landy drove fine all day, but after standing overnight the exact same problem! So airs getting into the fuel line but from where? Could it just be that my new fuel lift pump is faulty and the fuels draining out overnight? Any way to test it?
  2. Hi all I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a disco 1 300tdi which has done just over 200 000km. I am the second owner and so far the turbo has not been replaced. I recently cleaned out the intercooler and noticed quite alot of oil in there. I also checked the turbo fan whilst I was about it and noticed that there is about 4mm of play (up and down) on the shaft. I was wondering if this was excessive and if this means that the turbo is about to go? I have also noticed a whistling sound recently when the turbo kicks in- not very loud but still noticable. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Andrew
