Hi all
I have been following this forum for a while but this is my first question. I have a 98 Disco 1 300tdi auto with EDC. I have had issues starting her in the cold so recently I changed glow plugs and lift pump and I had no more starting issues. This lasted for about a week. One cold morning I started the landy and it cranked over strongly but just wouldnt catch. I opened the bleed screw on the filter and air and fuel spurted out until the engine caught and started fine. So air in the fuel line I thought. I traced the fuel line all the way to the tank, no leaks. Cleaned out the sedimenter(pretty dirty), replaced the fuel filter and replaced the injector bleed off pipes. The landy drove fine all day, but after standing overnight the exact same problem! So airs getting into the fuel line but from where? Could it just be that my new fuel lift pump is faulty and the fuels draining out overnight? Any way to test it?
