  1. Its got a smack waggon AND a bugger van ????????
  2. Moral issues aside,if your dumb enough to buy one of these nasty little copies, dont be suprised when the parts back up is nothing like that from the reputable Gigglepin. And you wont dare take it out competing cause everyone will point and laugh!
  3. If my codriver tells me to drive over a blind drop the only question I have is ....how fast! Dont be put off though,we're talking lower end of the scale here
  4. Another Place went today, so only 14 Places left. Was it the Potts Bros ?
  5. I'd love to compete against any of these"big" trucks, surly its a cant lose situation?...anyway they've moved on from my level of comp!
  6. Bit old fashioned maybe but I recon its hard to beat diamonds for trialing,Ive seen mud build up on the outside of the lugs on simexs tylee and on grizzlys hit canes, Firestone SAT's now then........
  7. 17 NICK ASTBURY DAVE MCLAIN SPECIAL EXPERT 165 0 Special Expert?
  8. Its also round six of Morc;s series so we;ll be there.
  9. I am a member of the morc and do as many of their challenges as time and cash dictate,by no means are all the motors competing road legal, I think the point of the restrictions are to keep a levelish playing field and not scare of those of us on a tight buget. Im not saying they've got it completly right as im sure they could do with bigger turn out at events to help pay site fee's etc, me I just get fed up having my ass kicked by standard zuk's Its tricky to know where to draw the line though,ALRC anyone?
  10. Hope hey do use Whittlesey, best site on the challenge I recon!
  11. Yep,thinking of going the same route, most folk on here are gonna shout megaspert but if like me your an electrical numpty carbs may be the fit and forget answer. You can get an in tank pump (Early rangie)with the correct lower pressure for carbs or fit an after market remote type Pasett or whatever,I think another good option might be a fuel pressure regulator fitted after the existing pump.
  12. Few of us heading down Friday night, cant wait to try the truck out on the strip,35" krawlers at 5 PSI hope the stop watch has got an hour hand! There's a RWYB Timed mud run too,as well as a rumoured 4 mile off road course.
  13. HA HA HA,Hear your home with a busted arm mike, that why you got time to fcuk about on eblag all day?
  14. It's very straight forward, the bolts in mine were the torx headed type, watch out for the face full of ATF as the block comes away!
  15. Yep you've got to drop the valve block to connect the gear box end,Mr Ashcroft replied to a similar quetion from me a while back,I'll see if I can post a link. Hmm cant but here's his reply Hi is there any tension on the cable at all or has it completely flipped off the cam??. If it is off the cam you must fix it asap, the 'kickdown cable' also sets the clutch pack pressure. If you run with the cable dis-connected the clutch pack pressure will be set to minimum resulting in a burn out. The reason for the brass crimp on the cable inner is to stop the cable running back into the box and flipping off the cam, so be sure when you have fixed it to set the crimp. It is very difficult/impossible to re-fit the cable with the valve body in situe, if you do remove the valve body first mark the location front/back as the correct position is critical. Only remove the M6 bolts, ie the ones with the larger heads. DO NOT REMOVE ANY M5 BOLT. When re-fitted it is possible to move the change points a little, start point is to set the cable so you get 'forced- kickdown' as the throttle presses into the carpet. Then loosen the cable to shift earlier or tighten to shift later, no more than 2 or 3 mm each way. Good luck Ian Ashcroft
  16. Have a look here http://www.midlandoffroadclub.co.uk/ I've been doing the're challenges this year, good fun and a freindly bunch
  17. Fair point,I recon I'll take that advise,
  18. Is the safty factor relevent to an off road only vehicle? I have played around with tick over/base idle, its a problem i've come across a few times, especialy on tuned V8's it only happens intermitently, usualy when its hot.
  19. My challenge truck (V8) has an irritating habit of stalling when shifting between 1st and reverse or park and drive etc,Im thinking of disconecting the wiring wich enables it to start only in park or neutral, will starting it in gear cause damage or problems to the box? Also at ALRC events I've noticed scrutineers check this has'nt ben done, hav'nt noticed the same at challenges though so is it ok?
  20. Oh good, maybe if everyone who's not doin it posts up I can work it out for myself.
