  2. if it locked up i would say maybe a bent con rod or even blown the head gasket , i had a maestro van with a perkins 2l prima engine do this and it done the head gasket on 1;3;4 but didnt do any other damage guess i was lucky hope this helps chris.

  7. been with herpmad today we have narrowed the problem to either the sender unit blocked inside the tank or between the sedimenter and tank what we need to know is there a filter/gauze on the bottom of the sender unit before we take this out as the pipes are corroded and will not budge its running ok by reversing the fuel lines at the lift pump using the return as the feed so its blocked between the sedimenter and tank
  8. at the moment facom are doing some good deals in their latest leaflet ive started buying more facom i think thay take a lot of beating chris
  9. whilst looking at a mates disco m plate with fuel probs it would not rev over 2000rpm cleaned out the sedimenter changed the filter ive eliminated the problem between the sedimenter and the fuel tank the pipes into the sender unit are oviously rusted corroded and wont come off without breaking the prob ive got is you cannot blow into the fuel line as it appears to be blocked from the sedimenter to the tank and sucking is rearly hard is there a filter gauze in the tank or is this a straight through pipe if i by pass this it runs ok and pulls ok so the prob is between the sedimenter and tank any ideas there no leaks in the system thanks chris
  10. i dont think its the handbrake it gives the impression that something is winding up like if you had smaller wheels on the back the centre diff isnt stuck in ive played with that on a field like you said prob is syncro wear but i cant work out the winding up chris

  12. 300tdi discovery n plate the last week its been getting harder changing down to second gear no prob changing up is it the syncro going and the other prob is a funny one when reversing it gives the feeling that the hand brake is holding then there is a clonk and it continues to reverse ok is this a centre diff problem any ideas before i get a recon box thanks chris.
