  1. Ha, we didnt last very long - half shafts - and went early, not cause we were p***** off - just had a long journey! Many thanks to all who were so friendly despite not knowing us and to those who helped us at the punches!!!!!!! Wadders and Scott
  2. Nice one general-confusion, looking forward to it lol !!!!!
  3. No hope - sorry, but like my stolen defender this one is unlikely to be returned, I hope I am proved wrong. 4x4 theft is massive and unfortunately a very low priority for our boys and girls in blue. Not their fault - but the days of proactively targeting vehicle crime are gone. These machines are stolen and broken with impunity. In South Yorkshire for example its common knowledge amongst the 4x4 community (and the police) who the thieves and handlers are. They are still in business - and business is good. I hope that this defender is recovered and returned to its rightful owner - good luck.
  4. And another thing: 4x4 theft appears to be at epidemic proportions so I just want to thank the Police for all the time and effort they have put into tracing my vehicle and the 10's of others that are stolen monthly in South Yorkshire. NOT. They are however very good at dishing out tickets - believe me, I've experienced their skill in that departement lol. Hmmmmm, possibly time to shut up before I say something I regret.
  5. Well its been on ebay and various forums for circa 2 months now. Its had almost 25,000 hits on the various listings! I've offered a significant cash reward for the vehicle or parts with no takers what so ever. The issue now is not really about getting the vehicle back, I suspect that its component parts have been cast to the four corners of the universe. Its more about identifying, thieves and handlers and how they should be dealt with if found!!!!! Hmmmmm, possibly time to shut up before I say something I regret.
  6. Form filled in Neil, stick me on the reserve list please - wadders
  7. Yes, like that idea - will do 2mos!!!!!!!
  8. Yep saw that one - and see you are on the entry sheet lol

  12. Hi there bit of advice required - soz if its in the wrong section. I have recently purchased a rear engined buggy for this years comp safari season. Currently the main part of the harnesses run over the shoulder and through the rear bulk head where they are secured to the roll cage in the engine bay. I have been told that this is no longer acceptable and that I will have to secure them in the cockpit! Is this correct? Any thoughts or advice? Cheers wadders
  13. Hi mate, only did one event last year in a fairly low budget challenge preped defender. A good but tricky course at Kirton was more about terrain than out right speed. I would think it will be different for each course. There was a selection of challenge/comp safari/trials and 3 'proper big trucks'. It is unlikely that you will use your winch cause not all of the vehicles have them so the course will have to fair to all. At the end of the day it seems to me that you could use any suitable preped vehicle - the event is about longevity and making sure you can finish the day in one piece having completed all of the 8-10 laps. It will be interesting to see what else Chris has to say cause the Military training area facilities will be cracking and provide some great tracks. (Not too far into the deep south for me please Chris - us Barnsley lads need interpreters beyond Watford)
