And if I'm honest Richards do a cracking job, I've seen an original new LR chassis and a Richards chassis, the Richards one is designed to be galvanised with all the holes in the right places. The latest rules regarding what you can and can't register now have all changed.

It's not when they are in a static position, more when the axles are articulated or when you hit a pothole at 80mph. It's a risky thing to do. If you can calculate the maximum movement then it would be fine.

So slightly different I'm sticking a richards 130 chassis on a 110. Called the DVLA and they told me I need to fill in the v5c to let them know of the change and they'll let me know. The very helpful lady said it'll be a new vin number at most, she was doubtful it would need an IVA. They really don't mind as long as you are replacing old with new... It's when you want to replace old with old that they get fidgety.

To be fair, if you import your own then the US authorities shouldn't have a problem. The crushed ones were all fishy imports.

Personally, given the price of petrol over there, I'd go for a v8, it's a much better experience. If it falls through, I can recommend a local guy.

Hi Hhariri, Welcome to the forum, where abouts in the UK I'd the vehicle? Perhaps someone could go and have a look at her for you. The engine is long in the tooth, I'm not sure 65 would be considered it's cruising speed... The key things are the chassis and bulkhead, if they are good you're golden. Once you get it to the states are you able to modify it? Cheers, Mike

Depends what type of bearing it is, some rely on a good hole.

As said for a bearing fit, grinding/polishing is what you want.
