  1. ... I think Ottens and rob at R&E did'nt get on too well either as he's not really corporate image with the nose and ear piercings!! ... Good mechanic mind!!
  2. ... and wait the normal six months/2 years for it to be sorted, if ever!!!! Sorry to appear negative but nothing ever gets done around here unless you do it yourself... Removing burnt out cars, illegal obstructions, etc... We have TRO's down here that were meant to be temporary but are still in place years later... Sorry Dave
  3. ... Steady on... If the head gets any bigger you won't make it thru the house to bed later... -Ok boys!!
  4. It may have flashing dodgy GIF's but it beats the Shire's website now eh? If they've hurt your eyes then good.. coz there meant to attract attention to new articles, postings, etc I've only just found out that its not really a question mark.. the round'ish bit was meant to be the solent and the dot was meant to be the Isle of Wight... Thats why were changing it.. Nobody knew what is was about, its a bit out-dated, and the new'ish commitee fancied a change.. Dave
  5. Yep, and a few of the sadlrc lot... Should be a right laugh!!!
  6. "I wanted to see them off at the departure lounge" Why did'nt you ALL get recovered to Gatwick then? Then fix the rad later? ... I would'nt get the noose and stool out for the sake of a knackered rad... I'm sure if you're that pi$$ed off theres a few boys on here that'll chip in for a new one for ya!!!
  7. Had this on a pro-comp 2" lift kit shocker from MM 4x4... Sent it back with ****ty letter and never heard f**k all back from them... no refund or replacement!! Have never bought from or recommended them again!!!
  8. Take the bulb out!!!! Works well after I wired the alternator in wrong... ;-)
  9. I had a thing like this... a really annoying one... It turned out to be a worn key in the ignition barrel... every time I went over a bump the thing would turn itself off!! The wieght of all the other keys on the bunch and the lack of notches on the key was causing it to slowly jangle out of the lock... Original part from 1989 so could'nt moan too much... Dave
  10. and then got this.... Important note: Due to the huge number of responses we receive it is not possible to reply individually to your emails, but please rest assured we do read every one. GMTV HAS RECEIVED YOUR MESSAGE, THANK YOU. ..... To$$ers!!!
  11. Just emailed GMTV.... Your report on the fact that more 4x4 drivers use mobile phones whilst driving was utter carp and yet another strike on the small minority of people that wish to drive this type of vehicle. When will the whole media get off the bandwagon? If its not 4x4 owners, its smokers, gun owners, fox hunters, etc, etc... Get a grip and give us the real news... We have thousands of squaddies over in the Gulf doing a brilliant job, in the crappest of surroundings, lead by the biggest muppet of a prime minister we've ever had... and all the media can come up with is the same old tripe.. Sort it out!!! Dave White www.sadlrc.com ..... 'ave it!!
  12. Do you mean the hardcore, robocop wannabee security or Joe Public?
  13. Less of the carp like kestrel racing or whatever they are... The BMX bandits are ****e too... LRE are you listening?
  14. Try www.sadlrc.co.uk Join and play on the same day!!!!
  15. Just going thru me 90 now... Leaky diesel tank... mud in the headlights... speedo u/s.. (new cable) 5p size hole in rear of chassis.. Just realised M.o.T ran out 15th May, and tax 31st of May!!! Just SORN online to stop any nasty letters coming thru Its gonna be a long weekend
  16. A landrover mechanic told me to squeeze all the bubbles out by giving the steering 3 turns to the left and right on the spot, lock to lock... I normally have to just lift the revs slightly to work the pump more.. Seems to work...
  17. SORRY GUYS FOR THE LACK OF POST SINCE POSTING... (19J out, 200tdi disco in) I ended up using the old 19J mounts bolted to the 200tdi disco engine and it slipped straight in (that was the easy part) Steve Parker conversion for the downpipe.. Hyperhose extended my old 19J oil cooler piper by 9 inches.. Also bought intercooler pipe and radiator water pipes from them, as well as cutting up the old ones and some 15mm copper pipe to join bits... Dumped ALL filter boxes and ripped the knackered heater box out... LOOK HERE Put air intake thru hole in bulkhead and K&N on the top so air intake is inside... I was getting naffed off with soggy and oily filters and all the siliconing!! The temp. guage was a different guage/sender.. When i plumbed it in it was reading 90 odd degrees on tickover and was stone cold.. I ended up getting a capillary temp. jobby as I believe there more acurate and changed the thread into the old sender thread... As for the radiator mounts I just cut the lot off and drilled some holes and dropped it back in.. Doctored some mounts to hold the top in from the old mounts. (I did see Les's job but cant weld for $HIT!!) Uuuummm, I think that was about it.. I am well impressed with the 200tdi.. My truck is now really torquey? and pulls really well... I will try and get a piccy to post on here but at the time I was tempted to go V8 but now am glad I stayed diesel. The conversion takes a lot of patience. I did learn after that I should have pinched the bellhousing thingy off the 19J and put it on the 200tdi as I ended up helicoiling the three bottom bolts out. I think the water and air pipes was the biggest nightmare trying to get all the bends and lengths right, BUT, It has been the best project on my truck so far that I have completed. I would reccomend it to any 19J owner as you will love the difference in power, etc... Thanks to all the guys on here who offered advice and I am here also now to offer any advice to anybody whos thinking about it.. Cheers Dave
  18. ... Not to sure about the "casual racists" bit tho?? I did'nt think it was illegal to fly nations flag at the mo...
  19. Is there any quickfists left on 'ere for sale...? I got a shovel boucing around and off the dog guard when it gets lumpy :-( Ta
  20. Cheers guys... Will give Pirtex a call tommorow and go and see them.. I will have a play with the oil pipes as I think the 2.5 19j pipes came off ok... May just bite the bullet and get a steve parker downpipe as have never welded... The pipes should keep me busy for a few days... Thanks again... The tech stuff is great to see the pics... really does help..
  21. hi there, I have today just dropped a 200tdi into my 90 and most of the pipe length are different... The two oil pipes going to the cooler in the rad need extending by 10 inches.. Some fuel (diesel) pipes need extending because the filter housing is on the bulkhead, air hoses from turbo to intercooler and some of the radiator water pipes need to be longer as well... Anybody got any suggestions or know anybody in hampshire that'll do the lot instead of me taking a whole day running around? The rest of the transplant went reasonably well but just struggling as well with the old exhaust downpipe problem and not sure that I really want to spend £145 for the conversion?? Ta in advance, Dave Southampton
  22. I had the same go on mine... That 50p sized seal behind the sprocket... It turned the cambelt to jelly... I took the cir-clip out, popped the seal out, spoke to Landrover who said it was'nt a off the shelf bit... An oldy up Hunters put me in touch with "Worthy Fuel Injection Ltd" 02380 224565 (Southampton) It turns out they service/re-condition all the fuel pumps for Hunters. I took the seal down there, the bloke took a look at it, and then threw a new one at me... He said "Give me a quid for the tea fund" When the belt went it did the usual 3 or 4 pushrods and snapped two rockers... I still have some spare rockers if anybody needs them as the belt went again 4 weeks ago!! Enough is enough and I'm getting a 200tdi this Saturday.. Hopefully have more luck with that one.. - Sorry, but never ever bothered with the timing belt case butt-plug, on road, off road, or wading and still had the diesel jelly belt problem.. I never bothered with the bell-housing plug either...

I have removed the offending tits with immediate effect and will be monitoring the behaviour of them very closly from now on. Fondest, squidy, soft, plump, warm, lovable regards, A Tit
