  1. It is HIGHLY unlikely the discs are warped. This is one of those myths. The only thing warped will be the diagnosis. Like the one about that big-bore exhaust, "It gives more power, see?" and stickers to make cars go faster. Sometimes discs crack. Drilled discs on a Land rover? Don't make me laugh. See them, and mark the IQ of the owner accordingly.
  2. Info on forward control and one ton rims/ wheels is here: http://www.900club.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1403&sid=95a1e78e452915ba71fd080038462d71
  3. Hell of athread revival, I apologise. Including my own post, much of the above info is confused or plain wrong. This subject and the confusion around it gets duplicated. Where this subject crops-up, I've put this same link up in other parts of this forum. This gives the complete picture: http://www.900club.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1403&sid=c74b4cfc832586f97986bad611b4de3d
  4. Part numbers don't seem to work here. This is useful... http://www.900club.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1403
  5. Looking again the issue is actually covered in the fitting instructions to the kit. You must grind the outside edge to the caliper. It would appear you PO did not do this or 'his' rims did not foul the caliper, and your 'new' rims do so, you get this issue. Not the kits fault. Installation error. See attached. The idiot I paid to fit my kit did not read it and ground five rims to fit. Ahhh! See TICs intructions attached. Couldn't be clearer.
  6. I have these fittd to mine. To my mind an essentail fitment for safety and conveniences. Should be law for anything otehr thatn a 'sunny days' series. On modern roads, I'd make a series, an MOT failure without 'em! Exteme? Maybe, but not by much. Modern conditions demand it. Really, the best way to a clear screen and keep it clear in your condnesation ridden series. High on the list of essential mods for a daily-driver series along with disc brakes & Defender mirrors. You gotta see where your going in thoes first few minutes for your own and others safety. I've defender heater too which also helps a lot. But it won't demist as quick as heated screens. It can be fitted to (the existing inlet with a bit of flat ducting) I'm running a 2.5 petrol (altenator) so have few power issues tho' But don't listen to me, I'd ban woofter-plate too. And any of that "Croc Dundee' faker nonsense. Who are those guys kiddin'?! Seriously tho' Fit those 2 x screns. You won't regret it.
  7. Oh dear... 'kin 'ell Hadn't noticed it was that old. Wot was I thinkin'... but then if I'm reading it, so must others I supppose. At risk of sounding very preachy, I'd rather not see others Deep-fried following the polystyrene route in a vehicle. Yuk...
  8. I'm a bit worreod by soem of suggestin' polystyrene. I know its cheap, and easy to get. But... highly flammable. Have you seen that 'kin stuff go! You'll fry in there before you had time to get out. Nasty. Almost explosive whne it goes. Use bitumen panels and high density foams made for the job. Suggest: Raid the breakers for automotive grade stuff, fimd a old jag it'll ahve all you need.
  9. A RR V8 throttle cable (has clevis pin link) was best for an SU on my Series S3. 2.5 petrol Fits to throttle rm without messing around with cable pinch nipple lash-ups. I have teh ACR set up. With exhaust manglefold too gives uselful extra grunt. Quiet too. Want head and cam next
  10. More info on that pad part number: I confirm I fitted: Brand: TRW Part No: GDB 695 (WVA 20741) Citroen C25 Fiat Talento Peugeot J5 Also TALBOT EXPRESS same van) I undertand that EBC Brakes PEUGEOT J5 2.5 D EBC Ultimax Front Brake Pads - DP425 are the same part, but I cannot confirm this.
  11. Heystee kit is good, simple and works. No cutting. Done in 5 hours work. I have their 4 x discs set up too. Equally good.
  12. Here's some pix. The pass-offs are the green and silver rims shown. 569203 is what you're all after, my 109 has tehm on as per pix. Careful, everyone says tehirs are one ton or 2B rims. Often they're not. I put thsi up on other post... To confuse you, One of my 569203 rims is marked 569204 but is identical to the other 4. One is marked 569204 but has been stamped out with a line of XXXXX's over the no. error, and then stamp[ed 569203. Rest are stamped 569203!!! But thsi I reckon was a Friday afternoon set. Any part number, starting, ANR is the 130 part number. 569204 was fitted to one ton. I think 569204 has more offset than the 130 rim. Careful out there!
  13. Thoase are a not deep dish 569203's More liek 569204. Not so rare
  14. Part numeber is 569203 and its my boast. I have 5 of them. Took me 8 years!. teh one day i got lucky.
  15. i have a Chhris perfect Ticonsoel kit. x 4 wheels. Fitted 2004ish. It uses teh Fiat Ducato/Peugoet C5 van caliper, whereas there is a TIC kit using Mercedes calipers. I had problems with standard 109" LWB wheels clearing, but found one part number that did go. 9sorry not ohand - rim branded Dunlop) Recently got hold of the real deep dish steel forward control 2b wheels 569203 and these rubbed to teh claiper, so had to get the grinder out. This kit has problems with soem LR std part wheels. But all can be amde to 'fit'
  16. Fitted 2003/4. I have the CPC Ticonso;e Kit. Very good easy bolt on solution. Very light but it still wanders. Wandering, not the kits fault. Two minor complaints 1) First Ram supplied leaked new and out of the box. To be fair, it was rpleaced by TiConsile via CPC prompt. so I forgive. 2. I have never got it to self centre well, but that may be me and my set up. I'm an off-raod poseur so I've never had issues with the supplied pump & location. I have the 4 x discs kit for TiConsole too.
  17. I have the Paul Heijstee (Heijstee Automotive) Chris Perfect TI console disc kit on my Series 109" There was a Mercedes kit but My pads when needed were branded TRW - Part no.s GDB 695 (WVA 20741) from Citroen C25, Fiat Talento & Peugeot J5. Hope that helps someone. (Heijstee Automotive)
  18. Careful here you want deep dish wheels see these part numbers. The pt no on my 2b rims is 569203. See: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/daveslandyandngstuff/wheels.htm
  19. I've jsut found thsi thread. i too spalshed the cash on 4 x discs all round. from Chris in 2003. i heard they were peugeot van calipers, having jsut gone over from Mercedes (in 2003 anyway) so a look in the peugeot bin might help you. let me know how you get on!
