  1. Hi i have got a good set of BF AT 245x70x16's on my recently aquired disco tdi auto and wondered what effect they are having on my fuel ecconomy as i am only getting 22mpg stop/starting and 26mpg on a run at 60mph. My previous disco auto had road tread tyres and it did much more to the gallon? The disco is in good condition, i have just done the cam belt, all filters, sedimenter, cleaned out the intercooler, intake manifold and renewed the injector nozzles - now running out of ideas !
  2. Hi they are BF Goodrich AT 245 x 70 x 16
  3. Hi i have recently bought a 1997 Discovery tdi auto (EDC) which only returns 21mpg stop/starting and today, 26mpg on the motorway @ 60mpg(125 miles on £25). According to the handbook (and a previous tdi auto) the mpg seems low. The disco has done 129k and is pretty much in superb condition, it has been de catted and the EGR valve removed. I have looked in the sedimenter which was clean, removed and soaked the intercooler (hardly any dirt), removed/soaked the inlet manifold (oily inside) and changed the cambelt, none of which has made a difference. It has a K&N filter fitted which i have cleaned in pj1 filter cleaner. The general performance doesn't seem that great. Is the MPG normal and what else could be wrong?
  4. Hi i'm about to change the timing belt on my EDC tdi Auto and wondered what i could use to lock the flywheel instead of Land Rover item LRT-12-085? According to the haynes manual there are 2 different part no's, LRT-12-044 for models with conventional injection systems and LRT-12-085 for the EDC models? Can the job be done without the tool (as per the write up on this forum) if so how do you tighten the crankshaft bolt? many thanks
