  1. Thanks for all the responses, Looks like I'll be putting a HD set on first to see how it is before thinking of adding the anti-roll bars - just that lot amounts to pretty much what the trucks worth Cheers
  2. Hi All, Having just got hold of a 1992 3dr 200Tdi due to missus not wanting to drive my 110, it seems to rock'n'roll all over the place. Checked underneath and it doesn't have anti-roll bars. How can I best tighten up the suspension? Is it worth putting a heavy duty standard kit on or is there other cheaper ways that can be used? Any help appreciated Ian
  3. Thanks for the response from everyone. I was a little concerned with the smoking on the engine but as it failed on some other bits, I should at least have the time to get it done a bit more accurately before re-presenting it. Ian
  4. Hi, I'm about to take my 110 down for an MOT on Monday but the exhaust is quite smoky. A bit of this is due to fuel that has been in the tank for at least 6 months, probably a lot longer. I did a top-end rebuild on the 2.5NAD and took the opportunity to fit a new belt. I'm fairly sure that this is only due to pump timing so was following the thread in the tech archive for replacing a pump and it mentions doing pump timing by hand if you don't have the pin. Finally my question, it says to turn the pump anti-clockwise to stop smoke but is this looking towards the drivers seat or to the front? Thanks for any help. Ian
  5. Oops, Should have been ........ Thanks for the response. Ian - Dodgy enter key -
  6. I was hoping that wasn't necessary Looks like this isn't the sort of job you take on in your shed then so the professionals might have to get their cut. Thanks for the response, Ian
  7. Hi, Having replaced the valve guides on my NAD head, I now find that the valves don't sit flat in the seat. Is it possible to drive these in slightly out of square? Whats the best way to fit them without the use of a flypress? Any help/advice appreciated. Ian
  8. Hi, Does anyone know of a breakers around the Poole area? I need a new head for my 110 Cheers, Ian
  9. Hi, Just looking to confirm a part number.... It is the gasket behind the Diff Pinion Oil Seal on a Salisbury axle - I make it a 607183. Pesky little b****r, didn't know it was there until I stuck me finger through it Thanks, Ian
  10. Not exactly what I was hoping to hear Looks like I'll just do the minimum to get the engine back running and see where I go from there. Cheers, Ian
  11. Hi All, Been lurking for a while and gaining from the tech archive procedures but I now need interactive help, as it were. I have an Ex-MOD 110 1986 with a 2.5 NAD and due to a very tight budget I'm doing some bits to the engine rather than looking at replacing it. The symptoms were clouds of white smoke out the exhaust when starting and running. I've got the head off and found large carbon deposits in the inlet throat and valves and guides are worn which i shall replace. The thing that has me scratching is that there is only the outer spring on all the valves! Is this usual and something to just ignore or should I get a set of inner springs to fit as well? Also any thoughts on the reason for the above carbon sludge? Any help appreciated. Ian
