  1. Goes in the bell housing, from underneath, and locks into the slot in the flywheel. Steve

  4. Just put new cushions and covers on one of mine, it weighs 32lbs. Steve
  5. That's the correct seal, if you look closely at cross section drawing you can see the open side of the seal goes in first, so flat face towards needle bearing. Steve
  6. The cavity side of the seal, where you can see the spring ring, leads in, ie, faces the threaded end of the stub axle. Steve
  7. Think you will find it only comes as part of the pressure regulator assy. LRO16318. Much money !! Steve
  8. Its MXC 5212, brit-car.co.uk have a picture of it. Listed for centre seat but fits outer ones as well. Steve
  9. Looks like the one from the right hand side of the transfer lever housing. Steve
  10. Should have a flange at the open end nearest the regulator so will only fit one way, then the small 'o' ring. Steve

  14. According to the operating description given for the Discovery it will only work above 22mph, no reference made to engine speed.
  15. From my RAVE manual : Clean stub axle and drive shaft and fit hub assembly to axle Fit spacing washer Fit hub adjusting nut. Tighten to 50Nm. Ensure hub is free to rotate with no bearing play Back off adjusting nut 90 degrees and tighten to 10Nm Fit a new lock washer Fit locknut. Tighten to 50Nm Tab over lock washer to secure adjusting nut and locknut Fit a new gasket to driving member and fit to hub. Tighten bolts to 65Nm. Nothing about using a dti for this. ?? It then goes on to describe setting drive shaft end float, using a dti, which is attatched to the hub for this purpose.
  16. Do you mean in the end of the c.v. joint ? That's 7/16 BSF IIRC.
  17. Are you getting confused with using the dti for checking drive shaft end float. Land Rover manual makes no mention of dti for setting hub bearings. As mmgemini said dti not needed.

  19. You did change the release bearing? Is it the right one and correctly located in the arm, is the spigot bearing in the crank ok, nothing in there that shouldn't be. Steve
  20. Mine's had the same 'feature' from new nine years and 58k ago, dont bother to top it up anymore.
