  1. Hi everybody, Has anyone else made the same mistake that I have made. I"m the proud owner of a Freelander TD4S Auto with Steel wheels and I"ve been hankering to fit a set of Alloys since I bought it last year, so imagine how chuffed I was to see a local advert for a set of 4 Freelander Alloys. So with cash in hand I went to the address, had a quick look at them and handed over the cash. However, when I got home, took off the two front Steels and tried to fit the Alloys, they wouldn"t fit. They"ll fit any earlier Freelander but not the ones fitted with the bigger Calipers. I now have a set of 4 good condition Freelander Alloys for sale but I"m still looking for a set of Alloys to fit mine. Can anyone help? I don"t know if I"m allowed to give my mobile phone number, but here it is just in case 07950492972. I live in the New Forest area. Cheers everyone, have a great Christmas and don"t make the same mistake I made. Dave
  2. Hi, Can anyone give me advice. Since the Engine Malfunction Indicator came on my 2000/2001 TD4S, and after having it diagnosed as a Fuel Pump problem I have now had the New Pump fitted, the Freelander starts first turn but the Engine Malfunction Indicator light does not go out. Has it got to be reset or do I have a possible further problem? Is it safe to drive? The new pump was not a genuine Land Rover part, does this have anything to do with it? Dave
  3. Help. I have just removed the Tank Fuel Pump from my 2000/2001 TD4S Auto 5 door and the only recognition mark on it was a paper label with the following numbers WFX.01230 and at the bottom of the label 0045882230. I have given a number of companies selling Land Rover parts these numbers and they do not recognise them at all. Rimmer Bros have a WFX100980 pump which they say will fit. Brookwell of Devon have a WFX5000070 pump which they say will fit. The last thing I want to do is to get the wrong pump so does anybody out there have any ideas. Please. Any help would be appreciated
  4. Hi, Has anybody the following information? Part number for 2000/2001 Freelander TD4S Auto Fuel Pump. I have seen a few for sale on the internet and some of them have different numbers. Any help would be appreciated Dave
  5. Hi, 2000/2001 Freelander TD4S Auto. Friday my Freelander started as usual first time when I took my Wife shopping. When we returned to the car it failed to start first time but did start second time and I drove it back home with no resultant problems. Today, Sunday, I went to start it but it just would not start and when it did eventually start it only ran for a few seconds before cutting out. During those few seconds the "Engine Malfunction Indicator" light came on. Now it will not start at all. Stupidly, I did let the Fuel level in the tank get too low so could this be the problem? Do you think it could be a blocked Fuel filter? Any help and advice would be appreciated Dave
  6. Thanks for your input Dan. I do agree that maybe I have been too harsh but having been a member of the Suzuki 4x4 club I tend to compare the Freelander club with the Suzuki club and I"m afraid there is no comparison. I still have the Mags from that club even though it was more than 8 years ago and whenever I get them out to look at I marvel at the interest on every page. There were section of interest for ALL members and not just regional sections such as The Freelander club. There were pages and pages of Technical advice, Spare parts for sale, Vehicles for sale in fact everything the owner needed to find out about their Suzuki 4x4 was included.I just wish The Freelander club could follow suit, and yes I would be prepared to offer assistance if asked. Dave
  7. Hi, As I said yesterday, I only joined 2 months ago and as far as I can understand there is no section of the club covering this area. And I disagree with your comment regarding the Magazine. I joined the club to be able to gain information, help and advice from fellow Freelander owners. I wanted an outlet where I could buy spares parts for my vehicle whether they were new or second-hand. The minutes of the 2010 AGM clearly state that there were only 14 members present and even at The Gaydon show there were only 5 vehicles from the Freelander club, this clearly shows that from a membership which I believe to be in the 800+ mark most members are not that interested in shows, meets etc.
  8. Do I call you Rohan or will Mr Bean be OK.? I have only been a member for a few months and the "Magazine", if that"s what you can call it comes out every month. If I were you I"d save my money. I have even toyed with the idea of starting up my own Magazine full of Interesting subjects concerning Freelanders, a help and advice section, parts and vehicles for sale and a section where other members can contact each other, a bit like LR4x4. Anyone interested? Dave
  9. Hi, Are there any Freelander club members out there and if so what do you think of the Freelander Club Magazine.? Looking through the latest issue I was gob smacked by the amount of carp in it. For instance. a) "Where was Alice" What I want to know is "Who the F..K IS Alice?" b) "Marks Greenlane Adventure" He was only in Hampshire so how the hell can he call that an "Adventure" I drive through Hampshire every day. c) We were then treated to 5 pages, Yes 5 pages covering the annual AGM. Very interesting! d) Worse was to come because we then had 4 pages of The Chipping Steam Fair 2010 with one whole page taken up by a photo of a TANK. What the heck has a Tank got to do with Freelanders? and why would we be interested in The Bloody Chipping Steam Fair? Nowhere in the Magazine are there sections covering: Technical queries For Sale, Vehicles and parts No members forum No help and advice Do I think it"s worth the membership subscription? What do you think? Dave
  10. Hi everybody. Like an idiot I purchased a set 0f 4 original Alloy wheels for my 2000/2001 TD4S AUTO. What I didn"t realise is that these wheels will not fit my vehicle due to it having the larger brake calipers. So my question to all you knowledgeable fellow Freelanders? Is it safe to run these wheels with spacers and if so what size spacers should I use? or should I sell these wheels and try to buy another set? and if I have to sell them does anyone want to buy them? Look forward to your answers! forestdave
