  1. I had a simular problem with a 2000 model 300 TDi, got rid of the immobiliser........Problem solved!
  2. The radiator certainly had no mud or insect clogging on it. It was tested after the first breakdown and there was nothing wrong with it.
  3. To all you tech-boffs ou there! My 2008 2.4 Puma Defender 110 suffered from an apparent overheating problem on 85000km. Innitially I thought I burst a water pipe, as it really lost a lot of water. (The engine immediately cut out). LR assist collected the vehicle and took it to the nearest dealership. The dealership confirmed that there was indeed no proplem with the piping. It blew the water through the water filling canaster cap (Cap still in tact). Land Rover could not find anything wrong with any part of the cooling system (Piping, valves, the cap, radiator etc.)and eventually replaced the theromstat. This problem however re-occurred 4 times over a period of 5 months and 15000km's. Going through the drill of low-bed trucks, hired cars (which LR paid for, thanks!)is really annoying. Various other bits and pieces where also replaced but never solved the problem. Gas/pressure tests were performed every time but the cause of the problem could not be determined, with no apparent engine damage after every occurence. (My Landy spent 11 weeks in all at the dealership.) Now eventually LR is replacing the entire engine. (on 100 000km). Is there anybody out there that experienced anthing similar or may have an explination on what might have caused the problem. One of my main concerns is that it might be an electrical problem or something to do with the ECU in which case a new block and head would not solve the problem, would it?
