  3. yeah both footwells are wet didn't know it had a multifunction unit on fuse box sounds like that's the kiddie I'll take it all out and see if I can do a temporary waterproofing job till I get the leak fixed many many thanks as this has been driving me mad trying to work out what could stop them all at once
  4. Wwell that all sounds good to me i'll run it past my mates. Longlandy your right about the zuks my mate has my old sj, it's quite modded but on occasions shows up my Disco that has about 7k of scrap bolted on it. lol
  5. i had a thought this would be the problem as i done the drains already oh well back out with headlining and the sealer thanks oldsscool
  6. Hi all just wondering if anyone is going to a pay and play site on the 27th and where YOU are going? Me and my mates usually go to Bures it's become an annual tradition for us for the last 5 or so years. Fancy something different this year might try Piccadilly Wood. What are your plans or recommendations? Chris
  7. I'm in Rayleigh and me and a few mates wanT TO try some green laning so we would be up for it but there will be a token Suzuki with my lot. lol
  8. hi everone i'm wondering if anyone has had this problem that is bugging me on my 97 300tdi es i am in the process of finding a water leak i beleive its the sunroof but not sure and also the rear tailgate seal as i have water on the load cover in the mornings this i can live with as i will eventually track it down and cure it however the electical issues are more annoying and definately linked to the water but dont know where all summer the car is fine but as soon as it gets wet inside things stop working and always the same things without exception they are heated rear screen rear fog light rear wiper but the washer always works regardless the auto wipe when you use the front screen washers but wipers work fine interia lights stop working the alarm to say your keys are in the ignition and door is open doesnt go off front heated screen the only other thing it has done is to leave the interior lights on constant and the light around the ignition barrel on constantly any help would be greatly appreciated with this or the water leak as i have so far sealed up the sunroofs checked all the drains cant find a leak anywhere but the headlining is wet to the front right of the sunroof and the edge of the headlining all the way down drivers side and across windscreen is wet please help me before i lose my sanity and burn the stupid thing cheers chris
  9. my 300tdi did this but had lots of black smoke turned out to be egr valve stuck open so it had about 50% exhaust gases going into inlet manifold not enough oxygen so wouldn't rev worth a look if you have one on yours i used the lid of a tin of grease to make a temporary blockage between pipe and valve done the job and got me home till i done it properly
  10. thats all good you guys, i can order wheels now and not have to have half a ton of steel welded to the outer edge as for the khumos there still fine but keeping them as the better half uses it through winter as snow and an mg dont work well for her or my wallet when it slides sideways into a kirb/ditch/lampost etc etc but i personally would not recommend khumos for anything more than soft offroading or road use i tried everything with them but nothing worked tried a new p + p site in chelmsford a few months back now and on some of the tracks it just kept trying to slide sideways down banks no grip couldn get anywhere but my mates in same or less spec motors than me with either special tracks or macho greenways had no problems and with some drops in excess of 50foot either side i decided to go with the safer option of special track tyres over sliding sideways 50ft into a lake or tree thanks again guys for ya help chris
  11. disconnect your kick down cable first and make sure it is moving freely in and out, had this on a friends disco would not change up as cable was seized in kick down position new cable fixed it
  12. if your disco had front fogs fitted just extend the wires from them with suitable single core cable as the light bar will be a good earth source worked fine on mine for last 3 years and you have all power and switches in place
  13. hi there just to throw my 2 peneth in, i had the exact same problem on a 200 tdi 110 the guy had done everything you have done to try and cure it to no avail, when i looked at it i used my digital infared temp sensor and found when the gauge read hot the engine was about normal changed the gauge and all good, normally with this amount of constant overheating something will give up if nothing has failed and you dont ever lose water i'd look down that route good luck
  14. hi everyone need a bit of wheel advice, just bought some new tyres 265/75/16 insa special track to replace my quite frankly rubbish 33/ 12.50/15 khumo kl71s !! what i need to know is can these new tyres go on a 8x16 or will they only go on a 7x16 only reason for asking is i built my disco for the wider tyres and extra width and dont want to lose the width if i can help it. 4" lift and narrow wheelbase spells trouble to me any help would be greatly appreciated as my only other option is to buy some 7x16 and put some weld on bead locks to give the extra width many thanks chris
