  1. Any one know how the wiring goes i know it goes battery to starter then does it go to the alternator and ignition switch
  2. I tried this morning to eliminate the battery by connecting jump leads to my car straight to the battery terminals when not connected to battery and still no signs of life.
  3. Hi starting to post regular now about my 90. I have had the battery out the motor on charge for last 24hours I thought I put it back on today and change the battery terminals as they looked a bit rusty. Fitted the terminals put battery back in thought here we go. Tried to start it gave it a few seconds of glow plugs then started cranking it started turning over for about 5 seconds or so then just stopped. Now I have no ignition lights and get no cranking at all. Battery all connected ok tried a different battery put on old terminals. The only power I get is to the start motor and to the little flashing led I get on my dash. No power to starter relay all fuses in fuse box are ok. Has anyone got any ideas it almost like their is a bug fuse someone which has popped but I don't think there is one. Any ideas .??? Thanks in advance
  4. It's a 200 tdi I going to check the earths and maybe look at the timing.
  5. I be checking the earths at weekend. Just to add to the strangeness when I got back last night I turned it off waiting a couple of mins and it wouldn't start. This afternoon I thought I just try it and it turned over a few times and started. Work that one out. If the fuel is turned up too much would that cause it to struggle to start. Also someone suggested check the timing could that be causing it to be intermittent starting.
  6. I getting really getting annoyed with my 90. I drive ten miles stop at a shop for a couple of minutes come out turn it over and it struggles to turn over and dont strart. I then push it as i parked on a little slope and bang starts straight away. I not used it since sunday but it started fine when i left my house. I got a battery meter when its running its on 13.8v so it seems the alternator is working fine. Its happened a few time when its slow to turn over if i connect jump leads it will turn over fast and start with ease. Am i looking at a duff battery it currently has a red top optima battery in it.
  7. Hi I have a LR 90 1986 used to be a normally aspirated. Yesterday it failed the MOT on no sealling rubber on the fuel cap. It has a large vented 2 lug non locking cap does anyone know should there be a rubber washer on there if so where can I get one from. The looks to be a cork ring in the filler neck where the cap goes but it is slightly wasting away so I could do with replacing that if anyone know the number for it. Would this cork ring be enough for mr MOT man to pass it.
  8. Hi I have got my reversing camera kit all ready to fit but I can't work out how to mount the mirror it's a bit big how have you guys done it. Do I cut my old mirror up and use the ball mount glued to the new mirror. How have you trimmed your sun visors to stop them hitting the mirror.
  9. I spent a long time when I first got my 90 looking why my dash lights didn't work until my mate turn the switch on that's next to hazard switch
  10. Hi as per title really I can get hold of a good Discovery lt77 to replace my whining, Leaking, and a pain to get in gear Defender LT77. but will it fit or what do I need to do to make it fit its on a 200tdi. Also whilst I am at it is it worth putting the 1.2 transfer box in I don't do towing so that's not a problem but I do have 35 inch mud tyres. Will I lose much acceleration with the 1.2 box. Thanks in advance. Baz
  11. Stupid phone You should have a serial number on your box you can then confirm the ratio from that on the ashcroft site it lists all the prefixs
  12. I put scobby wrx seats in my 90 truck you sit a little higher but they are comfy. The centre seats still fits but its tight.
  13. Hi has anyone vinyl wrapped there vehicle I am thinking if doing my bonnet but not sure how suitable it is when I use it off road it gets a few scratches and always covered in mud. 14. Hi can someone help me out please I want to relocate my battery the the rear of the cab so I can fit some after market seats. I brought some supposed ti be 800 jump leads and wired them up and get my battery in the back. But it struggles to turn over and the leads get hot. I am guessing these are not 800 amp leads can someone tell me what size cable I need and if you know where to get it from please. Baz
  15. Does anyone know how much longer the aircon bumper would stick out. I don't have Aircon but do have a full size intercooler and don't want the hassle of moving everything back. So looking at an Aircon bumper seem the only way but I don't want it hanging out the front too far. Baz
  16. I had a similar issues when I first fitted my 200 I had a tiny hole in my boost pipe which didnt help. I fixed that and things improved a little but it was changing the injection pump that sorted it now with the pump and wastge adjusted I get a 0.9 bar and pulls well.
  17. Thanks for the reply guys a couple of questions. Hi with you bumper the Aircon one does it stick out a far or is the winch close to the grill. With the cut down one can you still fit a full size intercooler in or it is too close.
  18. Hi I am after a Winch bumper for my 90. I originally wanted a rebel one as they sit high and look good but they cannot supply me with one and don't know when they will have any. So I am looking at the Terrafirma ones but can't find a picture of the back of it to see if the winch is mounted above the chassis rails like on the rebel one. Has anyone got one of these bumper that they could take a pic or let me know. Or if you know of a different make on bumper that allows the winch to sit high then please let me know. Thanks in advance Baz
  19. I have resolved my issue it turns out brand new servos from all makes are carp. I fitted my old servo to my new master cylinder and the pedal is great as are the brakes. Thanks for your help I just need to fix the seal on the servo now to stop it sounding like a kettle when I switch engine off.
  20. Yes it does get harder the more pushes.
  21. I have been out playing with my new gauge and yes 0.9 psi is on idle on hard rev it goes to 1 I have noticed when I press the brake the vacuum goes down a bit but when I release it goes down further I have 4 attempts to brake then I have 0.2 vacuum left. If I brake sharp the vacuum goes downs to 0.5 but takes some time to rise back up unless I acclerate anyone know what values I should be seeing from the vacuum. I have but the gauge on a t piece in between the pump and the servo to get these readings.
