artwigwa replied to simonr's topic in Getting out and about
Same here! -
Ok Might just go for it as I have all the bits to complete it. Yes and the cat flap is cheaper on there website than ebay, no surprise lol
-
Not sure if this has already been mentioned but sp 4x4 are now manufacturing new cat flaps, https://www.sp-4x4.com/product_p/320652.htm Have sp a good reputation? Cheers

Closed cell foam tape has worked for me, Something like this, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Single-Sided-Adhesive-Foam-Tape-Closed-Cell-Draught-Excluder-Door-Window-/143430411371?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

The plan is to mate it to the original lt77. Although auto sounds tempting...

Ok. I've looked around for a manual pump with no luck so far. How much extra work would it be to fit the edc engine in place of the old 19j, all information I can find is on the mamual 300tdi. 😕
-
Just looking for some thoughts on the possibility of putting a 300tdi in my 90td. I have aquired a rotten p reg discovery with a low millage engine BUT as it's an auto it will probably have EDC and as such reading on line its not possible to fit this engine?. Even on the steve parkers website they advise NOT to fit a edc 300tdi. How do I know if it does have electronic diesel control? With funds tight and a complete disco sitting here it's realy my only option...

Sorry if this has been covered in the forum but couldn't find any answers... Anyhow I was looking for the 2020 date when the "billing off road experience" was and found "billing land rover show" on the same date but in the aquadrome site! Have I missed something? ? https://www.billinglandrovershow.co.uk https://www.thebillingoffroadexperience.co.uk

Rear upper window panels to lower tub seal

Imho, Genuine seals are the best way to go if your landy is a keeper as aftermarket ones more than often fall short... literally! -
Rear hub outer oil seal, to fit or not

Rear hub outer oil seal, to fit or not
artwigwa replied to artwigwa's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
Ok. The 90 is not used off road so I'll probably leave out this seal out, any potential probs in leaving the seal out? Thanks -
Evening all.. so I'm rebuilding the axel on my 1988 rear drum braked 90 and on fitting the wheel bearing kit there is a oil seal FRC8222 in the box. If correct this outer seal runs on the outer hub seal spacer (pics below if uploaded correct) BUT some fitting guides state the seal is not needed on a 90" I is confused Can anyone confirm if I should or shouldn't this, FR8222. Thanks.

As boris113 said, using the trolley jack method that's the best way I have found to do the clutch!
-
As long as my 70's 'untested' tent from eBay is complete and not rotten we'll be there
-
So at long last there done, The camera has picked up on slight colour differences but it's not noticeable in person? ?? Thanks again all for your tips and hints
-
Snagger, what's the phiscal difference between shouldered and non shouldered tubes? Just that I did my ball joints recently and wondering if I fitted corect ones on my s3 71. Thanks

Thanks Dave88sw that makes sense with the hot water. Not sure on the vinyl so might go with the techno pattern material, not as sticky in the summer?!
-
Thanks for your thoughts on this, my confidence is growing! ! Will place my order tomorrow. Good ideas on the plastic and silicone method, plus an extra pair of hands that seems to be the way to go. I'll update this thread with some before and after pics, soon as santa has been
