  1. Good evening. I dont often post on here, but I thought that I had better put a quick message up here to set the record straight. I have recently had issues to attend to outside of my business which has meant that I have been difficult (Some would say impossible) to contact. I am not about to go into details on a public forum, but sufficed to say, my priorities have been elsewhere for the last month or two, and will continue to be for a while yet. We are still shipping our products as normal, but telephone contact within business hours is difficult (Our answer phone message states that email contact is the best method) If this has annoyed anyone, then I apologise. As Andy said, I am a one man band and that has advantages and disadvantages. In general my costs are very low, and I choose to pass this on the customer. However, I dont have anyone to run an office or man phones, so I have taken the decision in the last week to use email contact only (I found myself coming in after 6pm most days to find 40 or so messages on the answer phone, it just isnt possible to keep up with that) As regards quality, there has been one customer out of over 100 who have had our beadlock kits who had a badly cut set (Pheonix Chris off devon 4x4 forum). He was given a full refund including his return postage. The other 100 or so have been extremely happy. If this means that you feel that you cannot deal with us, then fair enough. If you can deal with corresponding via email and getting a reply within 24 hours, then do that and I am sure that it will work just fine. Any questions or queries, let me know at tim@straightforwardsupplies.co.uk
  2. We can do anything you want really, but there might be cost implications depending on what you want. Lewis, we could do you a wheel with a bolt in centre which you could then change when you changed over to 404 axles, but the problem you will probably get is that you will need to change offset as well when you switch to Mog axles. Lead times are about 3-4 weeks at the moment, but we can do better if you have got a really good excuse (like LRfun - needs them for ladoga !) Will, I have seen plenty of beadlocked rims damaged. The problem we still have in the UK is that lots of people are running simex type tires, and these dont flex that much even if you let all of the air out. If you run a tire which will flex properly at low pressure (3-5psi), and you drive hard you will damage the outer bead of the wheel. Rockrings all but eliminate this problem. I have seen wheels without rockrings come back from Eurotrial almost square (seriously, it was the most damaged wheel I have ever seen - I will try and dig a pic out of it). I have a buggy which I use for forestry work as well as playing, and before rockrings we damaged 3 out of 4 wheels on the outer edge. Since rock rings, no damage. We can do pressed centres, but it will add quite a bit to the cost. Our flat centres are 10mm and certainly on the smaller sizes (15" and 16") this is proving plenty strong enough. On the larger sizes, we will brace the centre anyway. If anyone has any special order wheels, email me with the details and I will give you a price - tim@straightforwardsupplies.co.uk
  3. If you dont like the rockrings, you dont have to have them as they are all custom made to order. Failing that, you could design your own. Wether you like the look of them or not, rock rings are a very good idea on beadlocked wheels as the outer edge is more prone to damage running low pressures. For the record, I have never had, or seen up close a Stazworks wheel. There are another 5 manufacturers of this type of wheel in the USA as well as Stazworks, and we have been working in collaboration with one of them with these new wheels.
