  1. Slight change in symptoms now it will start and run for a bit, but when you let of the accelerator on over run the engine lugs down and stalls, after Ive managed to wrestle it to the side of the road it will not start up again, have to do the fuel priming sequence of key on and depress the accelerator a few times, once I have dine this for about 15 mins it will cough amd splutter back in to life. when it is priming you can hear air beeing pumped in the engine bay. So does any one know how i am getting air into the system ?? as far as I can see a pressurised system that dosent leak fuel shuldent be drawing in air.
  2. Hi Guys Its been awhile since ive last been on here but I need your help once acain. At christmass my TD5 decided it wanted to throw all its teddys out first all the injectors were out of tolerence on the diagnostics so had them changed, then on the way home it managed to hydraulic itself on its own fuel. Turns out this is the common fault of the high pressure line in the head cracking to the flame face and filling the cylinder with fuel, so it had a new cylinder head fitted, injector harness and the ECU drained of oil and cleaned. It's ran fine since done at least another 1000 miles but last friday when on my way home after a good 1 hour drive on the dual carage way I went round an island and it dident seem to accelerate like it usualy does. at first I thaught it was stuck in top gear so pulled over, The engine then cut out and hasent ran since, will crank over fine, fuel pump can be heard running and making pressure, there is no sign of oil in the ECU or harness. But when cranking the Self levaling lights for the air suspension come on.
  3. Chears mate there is plenty of fuel in it but will have to hook it up on to a computer and see if its got any fault codes on it.
  4. Reacently bit the bullet and got some from Devon only took 5 weeks so managed to save for them a bit more aswell.
  5. Hi my 2000 TD5 Auto disco developed a missfire on the way home the other nite then came to a grinding halt I have done some research on here and found a few ppl have had the same problem. I have replaced the injector harness for a new one (not sure if its guenuine or OEM) also have had the red plug out of the ECU and cleaned it a few times. and streipped the ECU down how ever ther was no oil inside. Now I have reassembled it and it starts ok but dosent run on all 5 cylinders and will only rev up to 3000 RPM, sounds like it is only missing on one of the cylinders. Any one got any suggestions on what to try next.
  6. Hi Do you know when the next pay and play day is on at silverdale. And how ot find it. Chears Simon.
  7. My 2p worth Avoid at all cost laquring your engine now that you have finished all that work. Where i work all the engines come in laqured looking quite smart. But after a few hours running all of the laqure will burn and your hard work will be undone. It also makes it hard to locate where the inetivable leek is. Keep up the good work Si
  8. Dont think the change is mine Lewis sorry mate but you need to do some more work to your car as the rear axle fell off in my hands today. I was just inspecting it. 12. They are the same, it is only the retaining fittings and pigs tail/strap hooks that are diffrent, and even they are interchangeable between tailgates
