  1. Cheers, yeah I have a heavy winch and bumper, I will also be adding a heavy (home made) steering guard once the new suspension is on. The only difference between his and my Landy is mine is a truck cab. Would standard shocks be ok with those springs? By the sounds of things those springs would raise my Landy a bit, which I wasn't really looking to do. Cheers for the comments.
  2. Hi. Any thoughts on these; NTC8572 front NRC4305 rear Will they fit a D90 (ex-military 1986, 200tdi, pretty much the same as this http://www.lr90.com/ that's also where I got the numbers from). I have googled the numbers, but I can only find info for them fitting a disco. The guy with the yellow d90 (in the link) seems happy with that set up, Im wondering if the numbers are correct though, also are they higher then standard height springs? I have standard height Armstrong shocks already. Thanks
  3. Hi. I have an ex-mod 1986 90 and I need to change the front springs (got a steep approach angle going on!), I'm going to change the rear as well. What I am wondering is; did the mod fit the 90's with HD springs or are they standard? I'm afraid that any paint on the springs is long gone. For the record I've changed it to a 200tdi, front winch/bumper, spots and light bar, truck-cab, soon to have a heavy home-made steering guard fitted. Oh yeah, I have Armstrong shocks to go on already. Cheers

  5. Hello. I'm asking cos if you dont ask you dont get, its worth a try! Im hopefully gonna be adding new suspension (Terrafirma +2" shocks/springs) and wheels to my 90 in the next month or two (or as long as it takes me to sell my campervan and get the money!). I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me do this? The trouble is I dont have a garage or the necessery tools to do the job, and the only experience I have of suspension work is watching it on youtube (just bought a dvd about it too!!!) Ofcourse I would throw a case of beer, whiskey or some notes your way for the help. Anyway, its a long shot but like I said if you dont ask you dont get! Another reason for not putting it to a garage is cos I also want to learn this stuff for myself. Cheers very much, Ash
  6. Hello. The springs on my 90 are 27 years, tired and saggy. I have a winch, heavy bumper, spotters and Ive just made a heavy duty bash plate for it which weighs a ton (not shown in the picture as Ive not fitted it yet, the one in the pic is lightweight and a bit carp!). I may be able to get Bearmach HD springs, standard height, on a real good deal. I was wondering if any of you have used the standard height Bearmach HD springs, what are your thoughts on them, do they raise the height of the landy and if so how much by, what are they like for offroad use (do they have enough give/flex or are they really just for heavy loads/towing). Ive read that these springs can raise the back as much as 3", really?! Is that not a bit of an exaggeration? Any info would be great, and if any one wants to add pictures please do (but put the size of your tyre too, otherwise its hard to tell how tall the landy is standing!). I often have heavy loads of wood in the back (working in forestry and utilitys), but it is also sometimes empty too! I have brand new armstrong shocks (front and back) to go on. Thanks a lot, Ash
  7. Cheers Mike, I was originally gonna get the 265 75 16s, it wasnt untill I saw a picture of Boris113's landy with 285 75 16s that I started wanting that size. The 1st picture you posted; Is that rim the -35 off set or zero off set? I was/am/may be planning on getting -35 off sets with what ever tyre I get, so more to think about now! But in the same breath Im quite happy to either cut or replace my arches. Cheers for that.

I think that if you get either some spacers or off set rims then you may solve some of your fowling issues (the spats however will still need to be trimmed), Im pretty sure that I have read in a few places that 285 75 16's need that as a minimum, and yeah a 2" lift would help but I dont think that it is totally necessery unless you have the rear axel at full articulation. Im planning on getting some 285 75 16's and Im not planning on giving her a lift, just HD suspension and -35 off set rims. Then again.... I may find out otherwise! Could you post that picture again by any chance, I wasnt able to open it, thanks.

Im afraid that m choice for the 285's is mostly led bythe look of it, they way I figure it is that Im going to be buying new rims and tyres for the landy so I had may as well get what I really want. Nuhmskull - Im afraid that I don't have a clue! But thanks very much for trying Common sense, a great thing, and so is peace of mind which is needed when spending £££'s on new wheels. Triming the flares, not a problem, and Im hoping to to be able to do a diy job on them, can anyone point me in the direction of some diy flares/apats/arches, I dont really fancy spending £150 on them.   12. Thought i attach this pic of my landy to this thread, I figure that the keen eyed of you landy enthusiasts may be able to comment about the possible sagging of my suspension, does it look like much? I do have a heavy winch and bumper on the front. Off topic a bit but hey ho.
  13. Both But hey, up to its axles winching trees sounds a bit heaver then it is, there is usually a county or something like that around for the real heavy stuff!
