Thanks for that. Not being too mechanically minded I had visions of it going up in smoke !!

Can somebody give me a bit of advice. I have a Defender 90 TD5 which only gets used very occasionaly for short runs. Last week I took it for a round trip of about 300miles and noticed that the seat box was very hot to the touch near to the handbrake mounting. Is this normal? It was serviced last August and the gearbox and transfer box oils were changed. Any advice greaatly appreciated.
