best thing id recommend is log onto www,thed2boysclub.co.uk as per this site which has given me lots of ideas and help so has the d2boys site and you will see some very nice d2s kitted for lanes that look very nice with out looking like total off roaders, deffo worth at least a look mate, id recomend a fella called John aka monkiephone on there take a look at his thread upto the point of fitting the ARB bumper if you want inspiration. hI FELLAS I NEED HELP TO FIND A THREAD AND FAILED WITH THE SEARCH BUTTON. It was about a discrete fitted winch behind a standard fit plastic bumper on a D2, in the thread / article the guy said he had to move and mount the solanoid pack in the engine bay where the jack would go due to the intercooler being in the way of the origional, think also said he used a different one to that which came with the winch also think the winch was either t-max or champion and he used a winch mount tray to sling it under fitted onto this same mount point was his steering guard on or around the crash cans. Im pretty sure this was on here or poss another forum but i may have seen it in a mag somewhere in the last few days so it wasnt that long ago. If anyone knows what im on about and can find the thread can you please post a linky to it here for me please as im very keen to read it again and want to pass it onto my mate Cheers guys, Gareth.

Yeha after looking a little further and prob needing a jig of sorts it would prob end up too much cost and hassle, i think i know the guy you mean of the bay, spoke to him today ref the brackets, he makes these him self but alas does not sell them as an item, he does two nice ones a full length flat for £250 and a split level for about £325 so all in all not too bad i suppose when put next to the price of genuine LR part or other top names.

Cheers Tanuki, i dont have a tank of oxy unfortunately so thats out the window. The Mintex pads i have for both the rear and fron come with replacement bolts so thats fine. To be honest they are stuck that hard they would have been replaced anyway, can get the rear of no prob but the front just aint gonna move for me. Thanks for the reply buddy.

OMFG, guys im having real probs getting the bolts out of the calliper on my D2 so i can change the pads and see if the callipers need replaced or reconed. I have uneaven ware on the front o/s, and breaking dont feel right, i wont compromise on safety when it comes to my familly, or other road users full stop ( scuse the pun) I have tried to loosen up with the good ole BFH to no avail and sprayed plenty of penatrating oil into onto the bolts on both sides but still no joy, it just seems to want to round off my bloody sockets. Anyone else had this proble? How did you over come it? Anyone got any ideas on what i can try next? I need to try diagnose this my self as i cant really afford the labor cost at the garage and the cash i woud spend paying the i could use to het the parts and do it my self. I also have a duff back now as a result of Army exercise in kenya so all this buggering about is killing me. Any one local to Aldershot want to come have a crack for me then please feel free lol, sure i could stretch to a few tinnies of your choice for the help. mmmmmm, cheers for that guys very good bit of info to have to hand and very important too. So without breaking the law, and also my bank balance as i cant afford the face lift conversion lights from a later model Disco is there a way to get better improved lighting from my D2?

Managed to get 2 balasts from a mate pretty cheap and ordering 2 bulbs with the wiring harness for them next week used his to test out on my motor a D2 and they work well and boy god are they bright compared to my standard ones. What id like to know is as these are only for the main beam and not the side lights is it possible to get a connector to plug into it so it will run sidelights on hid as well without having to get another unit? Anyone done this, or even make sense of what i have just typed/ lol Cheers people, Regards Gareth

Need a little help please fellas and im sure some of you here must know. I need a roof rack for my D2 but looking at the prices i really can not afford to buy one and even second hand they aint cheap so i was thinking of making my own, well getting my mate to weld it up for me. I was planning on using box section, small in size but strong enough to take a good bit of weight without beeing too heavy, not sure on weather to have a split level or not. Only problem im having so far is finding some suitable mounts/clamps/feet what ever you want to call them that will secure it to the gutter, i was looking at using 8 in total to give good strength and stability and spaced evenly along the whole length of the roof...(i need a full length rack) So does any one know where i can get hold of some or will these need to be fabricated too?? think that may be why mine is leaking but i have yet to take all the gubbins out the way to look, hope the garage will confirm when it eventually gets booked in for rectification work following bodged repairs after i was hit by some scrote. Nice work mate.

planning something a little simmilar for the back of the Disco plus removal of the side bins to place storage and extra 12v bat in the bottom dog guard to go in then a shelf attatched to this for more storage space, so i will watch this thread take form if you dont mind. I saw your trailer build and must say mate you did an exceptional job, wish i had the skill space and time to do that kind of thing.

Have always wanted a Rangie and currently own a Disco 2 2000 plate i got last year my first Landy. Today however i saw the motor of my dreams a Black 04 reg RR Vogue for 10k it looks B E A UTIFUL. Leather interior in cream, auto not sure i could afford it at the mo but want to look into it and get more info, its a 4.4 ltr petrol auto 160 k on the clock and looks good enough to the eye... i need a test drive, high milage for one of these? Any common faults? General service and parts costs? Any other points to consider? Cheers in advance fellas.

Wouldnt be a normal day if i didnt speak and THEN engage brain ha ha You could always use black masking tape to keep the air in lol.......its what we use to keep the Army running these days.

yes mate, if you just mean put the 16 rims on no prob, thats what mine is running but not sure on the tyre size you have, you may need to change them.....could be wrong on that bit

Maybe. On a more sinister note i just heard from my cousin tonight somone attempted to steal his while in a supermarket car park in pontefract west yorks. Damage to door lock, ignition then when they may have realised they were defeated or disturbed they decided to slash both the drivers and passenger seat on the base and the back, he is just so so so glad he hadnt fitted his new xmoor trim interior in the morning as planned due to to helping a mate with his car, that just saved him so much money and a hell of a lot less stress, dont think it would be legal to print what he will do if he ever catches up with them but it looks like the cctv was in opperation for once and has cought it on tape, its just down to the police now. So it seem that there may be a bunch of scrotes on the prowl in the area as Doncaster and Pontefract my home town are not that far appart. Keep your eyes peeled fellas.
