  1. Are you running spotlights with your full beam, if so are they fed through a relay?
  2. Thanks Bogmonster, It seems strange that only part of the LCD should give up. Can you replace the LCD part only or is it the whole intsrument pack? Thinking of trying to source a 2nd hand one and plugging it in. Graeme
  3. The odometer part of the speedo on my 99MY DII has gone blank. I still have the trip mileage and the speedo reads ok when compaered to my GPS (2-3mph out). This happened at the weekend under normal driving conditions. The car has done 75,500 miles. Anyone any ideas? Graeme
  4. Jules, I had them on my Disco 1 but they came from Land Rover. There are blue ones for sale on this website www.dingocroft.co.uk (should be clickable!!) The part number is STC 8074. They may have other colours as well. hope this helps Graeme
  5. Thanks Jim. I'll get my fuel pressure checked and let you know how I get on. Cheers Graeme.
  6. No , have had the head gasket done and am running a Dastek powerplug. The pump issue started before i'd done this. I'll try and leave it for longer to see if it will stop!! Thanks BogMonster
  7. Hi When I turn on the ignition on my TD5 DII, the fuel pump starts and keeps running. Is this normal. I'm sure it used to come on and then stop after it had primed the fuel system. Ciould this be a sign of the pump failing. The car drives OK but sometimes it feel's smoother with more power than other times!!. Graeme
  8. There is also a fuse for the headlight washers in the fusebox under the bonnet. Again it's clearly marked on the box lid. this was blown on mine. Graeme.
  9. It's a 36mm spanner but I used the old method of cold chisel and hammer. It comes off anti-clock wise from front of engine. Just a light tap was required. Where abouts are you and what specialist did you use? I'm in Falkirk, Central Scotland Graeme
  10. Dave It still sounds like the thermostat because there is a spring loaded bypass valve in the housing that's closed below 1500rpm to direct the coolant through the heater matrix only to promote faster warm up. When I changed my thermostat a couple of weeks ago it cured my heater problems. I'm going to gather the parts for the head gasket and do it asap. Did you do yours or was it a garage and what was the costs if you don't mind me asking?? Graeme.
  11. Dave, As I said in my last post, heater working fine after changing thermostat but have other symptoms now!! I get alot of pressure in the top radiator hose and a low level in my coolant expansion tank. When I release the cap the water level comes back up, but lower than it started. I put a small plastic bottle on the expansion tank overflow and have been catching water. So far the pattern seems to be, I catch water after a motorway journey of 65+mph, but not when running around town. The top hose is pressurised every time!! I am tending towards the first signs of headgasket failure although there is no water in oil or vics versa and no steam/ coolant in the exhaust. Anyone any thoughts?? Graeme.
  12. Sorry, I can't work out how to attach files/ pictures from the RAVE CD. What problems are you having as I've just replaced the thermostat on my 99MY TD5. Car would warm up fine but heater output would cool down when car idling and warm up again when revved above 1250 rpm. New thermostat seems to have cured it, but keeping a close checkon it. Graeme.
