  1. I had exactly the same issue with my '99 Disco Commercial. It seems the very late vehicles don't have a spider either. In an attempt to rid the car of some of the troublesome electronics, I ended up removing the immobiliser ECU and and running a new ignition feed to the starter motor and removing the immobiliser from the fuel pump. I lost the central locking in the process, but not a big issue when there are only 3 doors. Pete.
  2. Has anyone ever seen a R380 gearbox on a late 300Tdi Disco without a drain plug. The boss on the casting is not even drilled and tapped. I might have to drill and tap the casing?
  3. Has anyone got a D1 fuel tank cradle available. Not too worried about condition.
  4. Thanks for that. I've removed the plastic box and revealed the stop solenoid. I'll have to run a ignition switch live to the starter motor as well. Hazards are still flashing at the moment. cheers Pete.
  5. Chris Thanks for that. I found a fuse blown in the footwell fuse board and the central locking now works, BUT the immobiliser seems to have kicked in and I can't start it now. I was hoping to bypass the spider but mine is a late Disco and it doesn't have one, it has the DDS instead. As the blipper that came with the car wasn't needed I ditched it, so I can't disable the alarm/immobiliser. I now have a new blipper but can't seem to get it programmed. Ideally I'd like to bypass the alarm and the immobiliser permanently. If I simply run a feed to the starter motor and the fuel pump the immobiliser light and the hazard lights would still be on presumably. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated. cheers Pete.
  6. Thanks Chris Funnily enough I found a fuse which had blown, after replacing it the central locking now works, BUT the immobiliser has kicked in and I now can't start the car. I need to disable the immobiliser system somehow. The annoying part is that as the central locking or the alarm system were working I threw away the old alarm blipper. I have since bought a new one but I don't seem to be able to programme it. cheers Pete.
  7. Looking for a a bit of advice with a non-starting late 300 Tdi. I bought the Disco a few months ago with non-working central locking, not a huge issue, just have to use the key. All was OK until I noticed a blown fuse in the footwell fuse board, it is the one very bottom on the left relating to the handbook symbol on the diagram. I replaced the fuse, not really knowing what it was for - big mistake. After changing it I found that the central locking was suddenly working - great, or so I thought. Doing this seems to have awakened the immobiliser, as now it won't start and the immobiliser light is on all the time. I read the thread about bypassing the spider, so I bought the bypass plug, stripped the dash down only to find it hasn't got one. I find now that it has the DDS system Is there a way of disabling the immobiliser permanently or bypassing the DDS system. I would really like to take the immobiliser right out of the system if possible, or is it a case that I can only run separate feeds to the stop solenoid and the starter motor solenoid. If I do this, presumably the immobiliser light will be on all the time. Any help is much appreciated.
  8. Just bought '99 Disco 1. The central locking is not working and the doors have to be locked with the key individually. I see that the alarm siren has been unplugged. Has anyone got a good starting point to get the locking and the alarm working again? Am I looking at locks, switches or a locking ecu? Cheers
  9. Does anyone know if all the D1 300 Commercials had central locking. I have just bought a '99 model and I can only locks the doors individually with the key. Also the red light in the dash doesn't flash at all. cheers
  10. Does anyone know if there is a hand-throttle kit available for the 300Tdi? cheers Pete
  11. Not too interested in the winching chat. But just for the record, RED winches are now fitted to the Jackals and in use on the 6 wheel Coyote too (12tonnes GVW).
