A flooded Disco being extracted from the mud runs

....I didn't see what happened with the vehicle that watson refers to above^^ so can't comment , but as we all know with any event its the marshalls that make or break it , as they are there on the spot to get involved as needed.

It's the new owners first event and they have a high std to follow but overall I thought it went ok....we did have to leave at 1.00pm so missed that "Last Hour" when all the problems usually happen :lol: . It was certainly nice to see some 'heavies' pootling around.

....strangely the photo of me stuck doesn't want to upload :lol:

    Cheers

i agree steve the event was run well its just a shame about the disco roll, as i say other than that it was a bloody good day. id say the organisers did a good job.

  3. hi all

i went down yesterday and had a good day, at first i was a bit dubious but they ran it well. but the only worrying thing is the marshals down there have not got a clue what they are doing bar 1 0r 2 of them this was shown when they pulled a disco ON TO its roof trying to recover it.

but they are hoping to run it every three weeks.

everything basically its only in the early parts of planning

  7. hi , was looking at prices for the new build coming up shortly ..

iv heard about kits which have the front and rear hoops and mounting accesories and all you need to do is make up the bracing brackets.

as this will be for an extended cab this kit would be ideal ;)

does anyone know who sells something like this??

    was around the 400puonds mark

    thanks

whitbread, north off road i think

  8. I will check it properly when I fly back Ralph. I only just remembered this damage when making my never ending list of repairs. Fortunately I have met a bunch of guys in a local general garage that are quite handy welders so will get them to tackle this job. Yes, I'm pretty sure it was directly below the damper so will check the components you mention. The suspension has taken some really hard knocks over the last few weeks, but I was surprised to see damage like this.

    Thanks for your comments.

    Paul

Your bottom shock bushes may be worn, allowing the damper to move up and down

    worth checking

  9. The event will only be advertised in LRO and then only right at the last minute

The best thing to do is send Pro-trax a mail showing intrest in the event and see what you get back.

If that fails, just post again and we'll try and help.

    Jim

    ok cheers jim

  11. shows i dont use the truck much as never done one, but now do

so how do you change the motor on an 8274?

    hi jst

if i remember rightly you just disconnect the battery so nothing can short, then disconnect the cables off the motor but remember were they go because it can be a sod, and then there are two long bolt in the back of the motor, undo both of them then pull the motor off but be-carefull of the gasket unless you want to replace it

i am sure someone will correct me if i am wrong
