  1. Thanks for all of the replies, I thought the price was about right but it's always good to get other people's thoughts. Cheers.
  2. Hi, after some opinions really been to look at a 2006 90 td5 commercial, 69000 miles one owner from new good bodywork surface rust on chassis but nothing major. Central locking and electric windows, boost alloys and metallic paint. It's up for £10,500 any opinions appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Hi, was just wondering if anyone had changed the seal for the throttle spindle on 2.5 na diesel engine, if so what is it like to do or would I be better off sending it to a specialist for a refurb? Thanks in advance Chris.
  4. Hi Matt Your cable may not be a tight enough fit in the drive on top of the gearbox or possibly your cable may be siezeing up causing the drive to slip, I had this with my 90 a few years ago a replacement cable fixed it. May be worth checking the route of the cable to ensure that it doesn't turn to sharp anywhere. Chris.
  5. I have had the same trouble with mine, I took it out and stretched the spring a bit then put it back and it worked fine. Stay clear of cheap ones I tried one and it was useless. Hope that helps Chris.
  6. Hi, today I noticed diesel leaking from around the shaft where the throttle connects on my injector pump. I guess the seal has failed and was wondering if this was a job I could do myself or do I have to send my pump to a specialist? Thanks in advance Chris.
  7. If you look at the pedal box on the bulkhead in the engine bay there is a plate with 6 screws in it, unscrew these and remove the plate then you can access the pedal pivot and lubricate it.
  8. Well the landy has been parked up for a few days and when I tried it on saturday the problem had gone. My thought now is that I had been doing a lot of miles on very wet roads and some off road work aswell and I wonder if some dirt and or damp has got into the bell housing. I am going 2 run her on for a day or two and see what happens, will keep you posted.
  9. Thanks for the replies, i had already oiled the pivot and spring before i posted and after soaking overnight still no improvement. I also have very little clutch left on the pedal and the creaking is definately coming from the bell housing so it looks like a strip down job. Thanks again Chris.
  10. Firstly a happy new year to you all, secondly my 90's clutch pedal has started creaking as i depress it, you can't hear anything in the engine bay but you can by the bellhousing and you can also feel a little something through the pedal. I am guessing either the release fork or something in the clutch itself is on the way out as the clutch is starting to be a little jumpy. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated also opinions on either box or engine out for clutch swap. Thanks in advance Chris
  11. No I haven't got a seat riser, I used the bolts that came with the belt but in the original lap belt fixing holes. I only had to drill and fix the inertia reel to the bulkhead. Chris.
  12. Can send you some pics at the weekend, dad has it for the week. Nothing has been said about how mine is fitted at mot so must be ok. Chris.
  13. That looks like the same as have for the front centre seat of my 90, I have used the 2 existing mounting points with the inertia reel fastened to the bulkhead with a plate to reinforce the bulkhead. Hope this helps. Chris.
  14. Thanks for all the advice chaps, think that I will split them and I expect I will fit stainless steel pistons. Thanks again Chris.
  15. No I havent heard of him, I do use mid Cornwall but do get some parts off the internet.
  16. Thanks for your advice, i don't know whether i'l split the calipers or no. I live in St Dennis.
  17. Hi, im about to rebuild a spare set of calipers that i have and was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice before i start. Thanks in advance Chris.
  18. Glad you have it sorted now, good luck with the MOT. Chris.
  19. I had a similar problem a while ago i fitted a new switch and that didn't fix it, i found that if i held the switch firmly the hazards worked fine. I stripped the new switch and after a bit of fine tuning of the contacts problem solved. Hope this helps.
  20. Hi, when i replaced my channel a few years ago i just went into my local landrover parts supplier and they had it on the shelf all the right lengths ready to fit, can't remember how much but it certainly didn't break the bank.
  21. I bought new springs from paddocks for my 90 last year they were only a few quid. Your springs are in the correct places, someone had put my top spring on both shoes and my brakes used to jam on when cold at times, new springs and correct set up problem solved.
  22. Just had my drums off to check my brakes and on my 90 the top spring is attached between the front and rear shoes. I had problems with my brakes binding and found that the end of the spring was catching in the snail adjuster, i turned the spring around and problem solved. Not sure if its the original set up but i bought new springs from Paddocks and they fit in this way just fine with each end hooked into the holes in the shoes. Hope this helps.
  23. Hello, can anyone tell me if the early type hub seal RTC3511 will fit a later type hub fitted with a FTC4785 seal if so which is best to use. Thanks.
