  1. Lancaster for me. RRC was £270 fully comp with limited miles, Just changed to a 300 Disco and dropped a further £68 so im well chuffed with them considering i have No NCB.
  2. Very good idea to change the crank oil seal while its out, as you dont want that to start leaking 6 months down the line and take the gearbox out to replace it. Got a 200 TDi clutch to change soon and going for the borg and beck from paddocks seems a good price onlt around £68+ vat.
  3. Only takes the one to ruin it all for everyone !!!!!
  4. Spark plugs definatly should not just blow out, even when trying to combust water its unlikely i would imagine...
  5. Hence why i have never been there and not too far from me....
  6. Ha ha yeah sorry 10mm wall on the tube
  7. Done some work for a mate a little while ago and liked his front bumper. So he set about making me one too It made from 10mm Tube and Mounting plates are also 10mm so i dont think its going to go anywhere anythime soon
  8. ha ha ha yeah would love to, then it would be the ideal landy... plenty of power and likes water but nowhere near enough £££'s for that at the mo....
  9. slight issue now after sealing dizzy silicone sprayed all the leads etc its now missing today and wont go even after a 15 min drive..... Damn V8's yuou can really hate them sometimes........
  10. Right taken dizzy off cleaned and sealed with silicone, Sprayed all leads with a spray silicone sealant, but was more like spray oil so not sure if thats gonna do anything. And tomorrow if i get time im gonna try and make up a splash guard for the dizzy.
  11. For the time being think im gonna make a splash guard, and see if that helps while sealing all leads and maybe the dizzy cap too. Have searched through a lot of topics but some people say something works, others say something else works, some say it dont et etc etc.. So just wondered if any work or at least help out a bit.
  12. Yeah just looked at megasquirt and definatly not an option at that price.. My old 3.5 never seemed to have much problems at all, nothing like what i had on the plains yesterday. Think a good replacement of all ignition componants, A funny 9 finger glove and maybe a splash guard might help.
  13. After a great day out over the plains yesterday, i need to look into my 3.9 V8's ignition elecs. After a few decent puddles it started missing badly sometimes had to stop and oil dizzy etc and would be ok then till the next puddle, then lose 1 or 2 cylinders for about 10 mins.... Anyone got any good solutions that have been tried and tested? was thinking of siliconing the dizzy cap to get a better seal and putting a thin ally splash guard around it?? Would this help much or waste of time? Leads im going to get some spray sealant or maybe chain wax to put over them to seal them up, but just the dizzy thats causing me the most problems i think.
  14. Dont thinks its that bad of a job, think Cross-member has to be removed to drop the sump but other than that just general undoing etc....
  15. Right slight update, Plucked up the courage and put £80 in the tank and gave me 3/4 so all is good just need aq guard to mate to the plastic tank
  16. Thats just too easy to think of things like that At least i have got rid of the tank guard already to my brother
  17. Bowie you dont think im gonna be driving the V8 down do you??? Ill be stealing Dads TDi i think for that trip But yeah im sure once i have seen it ill know whether it will fit or not
  18. Exactly the same as mine that other thread
  19. Definatley from a disco as thats what he had taken it off of. As said there is a huge difference for it to fit. A good 4" gap when the rear of guard is touching the tank, before its near the chassis.
  20. Always the way you never have a working RRC for long This guard was taken from a Disco, So surely should fit no matter what tank then?
  21. Is there really that much difference between 2 types of tank guard?? Thought there were all the same and fit all types of disco/RRC. Bowie have you got any pics of your guard? Also is there anything you dont have down there?
  22. Right a fair few pics of the tank how its sitting etc.... The tank guard was a good 3-4" away from the chassis when it was sitting on the back edge of the tank (near the axle). Not sure if any of them help at all
  23. Unsure of the make of the guard, But its just the guard and no towing options. But yeah mine is a plastic tank, but still looks a hell of a lot bigger than the older metal tank. Hang on ill see if i can get some decent pics
  24. Thats the only number i can se on it without removing it. Done a few searches and that part number is now non existant and to use: WHW100000 But still not much info on it at all.
  25. I have noticed a few times when putting a fair bit of fuel in the tank that it doesn't register as much as i thought, But never thought much more about it, till Today when trying to fit my new tank guard i found that it wouldn't fit around the tank. Looked under my Brother RRC sat next to it and it seems twice the size Its a land rover tank and is stamped with: ESR2585>PE+PA-GF30< Manufactured By DynoPlast Anyone know of any info about the tank with these codes?
