  1. I have a 109 with van sides, i have no probs with vision blind spots, as long as you are aware of them just take them into account and you will be fine.
  2. Thankyou, great info, i had to mod the washer, it was the only bit missing and a friend lent me the tool to undo the nut then do it back up again, good idea about the breather i will do that. Also...it is now all fitted and running very well
  3. Had what i think is a result today, found a bloke breaking a series 3 and i bought this of him for £275.00, he is local to me and i know were he lives so if it does not work as he asures me he says he will give my money back? will let you all know when i fit it.
  4. Box of bits arrived all good and all there but after some mesuring and testing the origonal holes on my back door are to low, the tyre will foul on the drop ball hitch so the door wouldent close and the tyre will hit the bumperet and the door won't open fully, so i am going to put a plate over the origonal holes to hide the mass of bolts and fix the holder to the pannel above. I am pleased with the find £21.55 of Ebay nice and it's the one with bolt holes around the edge to go through the frame.
  5. Yes you do have to time it with the vac disconnected but have a short peice of pipe with one end closed to go on the dizzie while you time it.
  6. Good idea, thankyou, i will look out for one, checked the door and it has the dove tail wedge and bracket
  7. Thankyou, i have bought a land rover spare wheel holder, will take a pic when i fit it.
  8. I have decided to put the spare wheel on the back door to even out the wheight a bit and give me better vision over the bonnet, is there any legal requirements or can you place it anywere you want ?
  9. I live in Brighton with small narrow streets, i have no problem getting about in my 109 and compared to the 88 i sold i haven't noticed a differance in the turning circle of my 109, maybe ask if you can have a drive of one before you make up your mind.
  10. Thankyou...defo the next thing on the list, hopeing to put the spare on the back door rather than the bonnet, so looking for a set of 5
  11. Snagger has a 109 rebuild blog it is very usefull...( nickslandrover.co.uk ) Good luck
  12. It is missing 2 x support bars that i need to make and fit and she has a lift kit so it may be fitted lower? but it is how i bought her
  13. My 109 is just like this, 2 x under seat tanks with a LH/RH switch by the handbreak, it's an ex military FFR so you should be able to get the parts without haveing them made
  14. Done the isolator switch, well tucked out the way so it can't be tampered with, next will be locking wheel nuts and some form of steering / clutch lock.
  15. I will give it a go but i will put a low value fuse and see what happens?
  16. Yes the world we live in...i have ordered a battery isolator with a key, will fit it as soon as it arives, also thinking of a clutch to steering wheel lock but don't know if they are any good? used to have one on my old 88

  18. Hi, done some bit's to my 109, Removed the tow ball so now it's safe, Removed the roof rack and yes what a differance, no more rolling in corners, fuel consumption is way better and she pulls up hill better, top speed improved, many thanks for the advice on that, i have put it on Ebay...see what i get? Looked into new tyres and found a Set of 4 Colway 31x10.50R15 All terrain tyres on 15x8 black modulars on Ebay for £200 they have done about 1000 miles? so i got them, 285 mile round trip today my 109 drove fine so all good.
