  1. You set the Idle, with the Idle valve removed and both ends of the piping bunged up and with a warm engine, set the idle Via the adjusting screw to around 800 rpm. Idle valve isn't fighting what you are trying to change. I had that problem to start with, and the leaking hole I removed a screw from Also the idle settings are in the " More Settings" tab in MT and TS.
  2. GRRRRRRRRR 1/2 mile from home on first map run of the day, windscreen gone on passenger side propper stardust floating around in the cab. must of been a stone from somewhere. Limped back home awaiting auto windscreens
  3. I have seen that map else where on here and did wonder about it as it goes against everything I have seen on here. Does such a big step have any roughness in the running? Thanks for the advice so far slowly getting to grips with it all. Now have a nice steady tickover and lost most of the hunting only a bit left on warm up to sort. Was going to do some runs today but weather here was appalling.
  4. That is why Gettting lost then! I'm using Narrowband and have the AFR tables turned on! ( I had MS2 that wouldn't work on WB and had nige rebuild it to Ms1 on NB so I'm getting confused over the two I need a memory dump/ flush and start again!) So the AFR table bobtail was on about is the one in Ms analyser that tunes your map to those figures! Cool I'm getting somewhere faster, Have lots to tweak from Tuesday onwards.
  5. Ah didn't realise the Spark map was so basic, should of checked really. Here's BBC's map I have transplanted, Would that be better working off for now? Here's the AFR table, I'll put my hands and say I don't know the translation between these figures and AFR Any guideance on this rather large uphill taking is greatly Received. Along with some Beers I'm sure
  6. Need a bit of Help again Tuner studio is great! Using the Ve analyser great but concerned about one area of the map it seems to just keep adding fuel every run. Do I need to change the spark advance or is this an area I'll need to wok on manually? Just for reference heres the Spark map
  7. Ha yes I remember playing with the lite version that was supplied with the Ms from the other guy, but just ended up using the Stuff Nige sent out with allhis Gubbins on his CD. I have purchased this now and will be on with it tomorrow. Any tips or things to look out for on this? Thanks again Nick
  8. Having been running and logging my hybrid for three days now I'm getting the hang of this, until today!! This is run six using my fifth generated map all around 3/4hr runs, get back go into MLV and open up the log ok, load MSQ ok, run Ve analyser it's stuck on wideband not letting me tick Narrowband O2, recheck all my settings on Map 5 and everything is still in narrowband. Looking through the log everything has recorded at it should have. done a quick log whilst on the drive and checked Ve Analyser and everything is as it should be! Have I lost that whole run is there anyway around switching the O2?? Thanks Nick
  9. Ha ha I now see what you mean! 5 logging runs in and I'm starting to get it! Becoming better every drive apart from the wallet.
  10. Having decided to squirt my 3.9 hybrid last year, I forked out for a ready built Squirt from a very well known supplier. Being very new to squirting and ecu's as a whole, I spoke with the guy in length and decided on a MS2 extra that ran off the Dizzy and controlling the famous RV8 stepper motor. All seemed good when it arrived with lovely diagrams etc. After fitting it I couldn't get it to run, it wasn't seeing a spark input, Sent the ECU and dizzy back off to the builder, who hadn't built it for my needs wasn't sensing the input. Refitted everything and turned the key it ran and tickover was 3000 rpm... After many emails back and forth to this supplier ( not once did he offer speaking to me direct). I lost faith and turned to Nige for help, he restored my faith in megasquirting also emptied my Wallet having sent the ecu to Nige he gave me a breakdown of what was done to me Ecu saying it didn't last 5 mins on a loaded sim, basically the ecu was rebuilt to a far better level of workmanship. So the build started again Goodbye Lucas fitting the tooth wheel Edis being wired in (yes I know it's in the engine bay this isn't a offroad motor ) Coil packs in New idle control my dinky one Ecu Under dash All done ready for test drive Here's my baby it has been lowered since the photo So today was my first drive using Nige's base map which was well over fueled after 15 mins logging got it down to something better, and did another 15 min drive and found a bit more smoothness. Then I did A long drive really trying to hit everything and got this 132 out of 144 good going I thought and with 134 cell weight. I can't see myself driving around again without the laptop in it. Many Thanks to Nige a very patient man, and I haven't forgot your exchange dizzy It'll be in the post this week So after a 4 month period of emails and phone calls I'm up and running with a happy motor.
  11. Engine breathers were removed and blanked in this exercise! I have found the cause and feel like a plank whilst the plenum was off first time around I removed the very rotten throttle body heater. Didn't realise one of the mounting bolts for this is a direct hole into the plenum!!! DOH!! How I found it was to use my bee smoker and waft smoke around the engine to see if I could find the draw. Which I did. Now has bolts back in all the holes and lots of sealant around all of them!!! I have control of my engine again! Watch the squirt thread for my build pages! Thanks Nick
  12. Not throttle flap at all, had cardboard over the throttle body tonight, Prv has been checked and not that. Could this be the Squirt? fueling or ignition? Although it's on nige's base map so shouldn't be to far off.
  13. Ok this is getting frustrating now. Plenum stripped and resealed using hylomar, tickover now at 1100rpm. All vaccuum hoses blanked off except fuel rail T peice and Squirt MAP, Have blanked Fuel rail but made no difference and MAP. Idle screw shut. Pwm removed and hoses blanked. Not had this fault before squirting and only change was to remove the plenum and clean up when squirting. Throw some Ideas at me, as I'm lost?
  14. yeah Mating surfaces are all good, but the sealant I used seems to thin in viscosity, and bled through rather than sticking to the surfaces. If Hylomar is in the Green bible then that sounds good enough
  15. Hi Guy's Finally getting along with my Squirting my Hybrid but having issues controling Idle speed, having removed the PWM and blanked all vacuum pipes and breathers I was still running at 1300rpm with the Idle valve closed, So started checking the plenum and inlet manifold for leaks, by spraying some nasty stuff in the local areas upon spraying around under the throttle body my engine tone changed, ah leak found!! so stripped off the Plenum and the inlet manifold to find the gasket sealant I used hasn't worked at all really, Serves me right from nicking it from work! Cheapest carp you can find must be! So can anyone recomend me a decent high temp sealant for the inlet and plenum chambers, Is Blue Hylomar still as good as it gets? or any thing better? Nick
