  1. Just a quick word, if i may? Most British Army Wolfs are going (or have been) to the Gulf. Where possible, REME will to fit a raised air intake and obviously, remove these covers, therefore they can be found discarded in skips, around most bases in Germany! Try next year at Sodbury's and you'll pay about a £iver for a pair!! And please remember that you need a pair or they are USELESS
  2. Stephen, how heavy is the Hitachi? Remember you've got the friendly JHSU Detachment up the road! If it weighs less than 11,300kgs (take the mud holding it into consideration too!?) a Chinook could lift it out
  3. I'm not even going to humour you with a reply Les (Oops I think I've just done that?! )
  4. Got the beer already mate! Last one for a while though as with the V8 I'll be spending most of my readys on an altogether different type of liquid !!
  5. Well i've been away for a bit and most things have changed everywhere!! I managed to PM SCL on the other forum who reminded me that this is where most people "hang" !! Oh yeah, I'm picking up my new Landy next week, a Disco ES 4.0 V8 B)
  6. Cool !! So how can I get hold of them!?? Where abouts in the UK are you?
  7. I agree and would much prefer a "real" one!! , but I believe you can buy the plans alone, then source the bits yourself? My son has got a Cheap 'N' Nasty electric quad bike and I was wondering how many of them he and his brother will get through over the next few years!
  8. Has anyone from the forum built one of these as I'm looking for a winter project and one of these could be Perfick!! But I am to DIY what King Herrod was to babysitting!! So would appreciate anyones experience in the ease of making one?
  9. Well if you've got to use Sandbags, you may as well use ones that look like that!! B)
  10. There will be some released soon, as when BOWMAN (Better Off With Map And Nokia!! ) is introduced across the Army, some Wolfs will have the tweeks carried out (Anti Roll bars strengthened etc). However the ones that are getting close to their release date will be sold and replaced early to save money having them refitted. Avoid any that have been to Telic, as they WILL have been abused and that sand gets litterally everywhere and is very abrasive. Unfortunately they will probaly be the first ones released!!
  11. JST is right! They are useless and fold down at any speed over 40mph! They are also made of plastic not glass, so scratch more easily making it harder to see anything in them! TOP TIP: if you see a Wolf indicating, give him room as he wont be able to see you!!
  12. It does work, the sound is spot on yet the picture quality is poor. They are also affected by the elements a lot as the sway around !!
  13. Cheers Mate, problem is that I'm in Germany, so not sure how I'd get them? Also (& this sounds daft?!!) I need them in a box!
  14. I don't suppose you'd have a name of a shop that can supply them for £5?!
  15. Whilst I was away fighting thwack, my dearly beloved Sandgbag has managed to completely muck up our EMail! When I try to log in to Hotmail, it gives a message to identify 8 figures in a message to identify myself, which I do, it then asks for my EMail & Password etc, which I type in. Then it goes back to the 8 figure recognition thing again, this goes on & on, never letting me get close to my EMail, ANY CLUES???
  16. Well at last I've found this place, (I've been away for a bit!) Today I went to a "Unimog Treff", these guys are mad for thier vehicles, they even had an off-road course. The Unimogs bridged quite a few years too, post war to the present! I had a really good day and there was a much better atmosphere than certain UK shows (!?) The best bit though was seeing a lot of the "older" vehicles on trailers getting towed by Landrovers!!
