  1. Did see 10k boost and wondered about it, just seemed odd... may be worth a look though
  2. TSD that all makes a lot of sense. I guess I was more worried about any adverse effects, but they'd have come out by now I suppose
  3. Having trawled the interweb for some clues, can't say that I have found anything conclusive - one way or the other. Has anyone on here got any experience - good or bad - with adding diesel additives to their fuel. Noticed any improvement in the economy? Any adverse effects? TIA Andrew
  4. So what do you pack in your truck for that "bugger something has gone wrong" moment? What are the most useful socket sizes? Would something like a Leatherman WAVE be a good addition?
  5. Ah, I see, that makes sense. Cheers, Andrew
  6. Hi, I don't understand the connection between the door card (on the inside right?) and the swingaway carrier? What am I missing? Thanks, Andrew.
  7. I didn't realise that the carrier added security 3rd hinge? That isn't something I would have considered, and this might be a really silly question, but is there a right place to fix this. I mean, with regards to load bearing position, or doesn't it matter, as the mere fact you have one fitted will help due to load spreading?
  8. Cool, so sounds like probably won't be a problem; certainly for now. That is good news as means the funds I've put to one side can go towards the Stage 1 I have in mind
  9. Standard tyres at the moment, and can't see the use extending to lots of off road abuse. Not sure, but door looks in good condition from pics and the hinges too. Re fitting, is this a fairly straightforward D I Y job or one for someone who knows what they are doing. I'm not bad with a spanner
  10. Hi Although I haven't actually taken ownership of my landie yet, I've been having a look around and was wondering.... Are swingaway wheel carriers worth fitting? I understand that they help by transferring the weight of the wheel away from the door, but in the real world, UK and Europe, does it matter/make any difference to rear door wear? Thanks all
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome - one of the great things about the Lotus is the community. Looks like this is going to be the same. Awesome. As for which one - Defender that is - a 52 plate 2002 TD5 Potholes and speed cameras are other reasons for selecting the Defender. Sometimes I get the impression that sunken man hole covers and potholes are the council's way of slowing you down. In the Elise I almost spend as long looking out for potholes and such as I do looking where I am going. Am now counting down the days until what is going to be a odd weekend. Farewell to an old and trusted friend, hello to a new friend
  12. Hi All So, as from Sunday I will be the proud owner of a 90 CSW in Oslo Blue. In many ways I am looking forward to it, and the only down side is having to get rid of my pride and joy Lotus Elise. Yes, there is a massive difference, and here is my reasoning... Need more space, as even with 1 child, all their stuff just doesn't fit. So a replacement for the Elise? Could be a nippy little car, say a mini.... Nah... Anything nippy will always be compared in my mind to the Elise, and frankly nothing will come close. The Elise is awesome. So what else? Well in my budget, it would be some kind of rep mobile - I'd rather walk... So that brings me to a 4x4 - the only choice really is a Defender. Timing wise, everything is coming together, what with the sale of my Elise and the location of and agreement to buy a Defender Not sure I can resist the calling to visit http://www.irbdevelopments.com/ for a Stage 1 though Cheers and Hello Andrew.
