  1. Try Sureterm Direct. I'm 32 5 years NCB clean licence, on a 92 200tdi truck-cab no mods valued at £3500. They've insured it fully comp for £125 a year!!
  2. Hi all. I changed the rear wiper blade on my RR p38 last week, and now it wont work (typical) The blade was changed as directed in the owners manual, and next time I used it, the arm went about half-way through it's "stroke" and stopped. On closer examination, the arm is very loose and there seems to be no resistance (I can move it by hand). The motor is still working as I can hear it buzzing when the wiper switch is activated. I get the impression that it has become loose and become detatched from the drive spindle. The problem is the nut to tighten the arm onto the spindle is totally in-accessable. Any suggestions?
  3. I had this with mine. Turned out to be the diff-lock lever fouling on the back of the transfer box, meaning it would pop out of hi range every now and then. A quick adjustment of the linkage solved the problem.
  4. A bit of a wierd one this... For the last week or so, my 200tdi defender has been reluctant to start. I would turn the key, and all I would here is the "click" of the solenoid on the starter. Try again a couple of seconds later and she would turn over slowly and fire-up. Thinking it was battery related I replaced the alternator and the battery. It was good for the first few times I started her but has now gone back to how she was before... Now, this morning, she absolutly refused to turn-over, let alone start all I got was the click from the solenoid. Then there was another click from the fuse-box area, and all the dash lights went out.. I turned the ignition off, and tried again. Nothing, dead as a doornail! Thinking it was a fuse, or a relay, I had a look in the fusebox, they were all fine. Then I checked any relays I could find and any connections or earthing points I came across. While I was mooching about I noticed the dash lights were back on, so I gave her a try, she turned over slowly and fired!! I turned the ignition off, and tried again, no problems. This got me thinking could a knackered starter or sticking solenoid present these symptoms?
  5. A jack under the spanner worked a treat... Welldone that man! It must have blimmin tight, though.
  6. I would never have thought of that in a million years! Thank you.
  7. Decided to treat the 200tdi Defender to an oil and filter change, but I absolutley cannot move the sump bolt. Any suggestions?
  8. Cheers fella's, I'll just have my lunch and go and give the adjustment a go
  9. Hi guys, new to the forum, but not LandRovers! I bought a 200tdi, G reg 90 truck-cab last week. I've had a few gearbox/transfer box probs. Firstly, she refused to go into reverse, so I have removed the spring and ball-bearing "gate" which had siezed. I also have a niggeling problem with the transfer box which is driving me bonkers! every now and then it pops out of hi range, resulting in no drive. lo range and diff lock work fine and dont present this problem. Now heres the annoying bit, the 'box may stay in hi, with no probs for a couple of days, or it may pop-out 4 times in 100 yards! Do you guys think it's a selector linkage adjustment issue, or maybe a knackered synchro? Cheers Fellas.
