  1. many horror and success stories around black boxes. drive like a tit and expect it to bite you back! ive also heard people being prove innocent because of the data the black box recorded in accidents and other having there policy cancelled after 10mths for driving like idiots leaving them without any ncb and a mark against there name for denied insurance and a huge hike in premiums. tho admittedly i chose a policy without blackbox and paid a tiny bit more. just in case... but my next planned car, blackbox brings price down by 3k. but then defeats the object of the car. other options is insuring car in your name and putting kids as named drivers. easy way for cheap insurance but has recently been a huge crack own on this! but i do the opposite. policy in my name and my mum as a named driver. with her million years ncb brings my insurance down almost £250! bonus!
  2. need a proper diag that can go into live data on abs. so you can see what abs sensor is playing up.

  6. maybe not the answer your after but ive fitted hundreds of pads and discs of all various makes, mainly borg n beck, trw and mintex. not to mention some pagid and unipart,and ebc. and only had 1 set back for warrently due to warping. if your set of appearance the borg n beck are now all 'bektek' coated to prevent corrosion. unless your set on fitting genuine. if any of the above will be absolutely fine.
  7. making them fit isnt the problem. controling them to give smooth power with out surging etc is the issue. if there is an actuator that works would be easy peasy. some say use tdi, other say td5. others say universal etc. would love to fit and experiment but truck needs to be roadworthy all times.
  8. got anymore photos? if its snapped while driving and hit the ground which it looks,, it may now be slightly bent due to impact from ground. also if the yoke took a hit, may alsoo now not be perfectly round, making it near impossible to remove uj cups and propbably vibrate.
  9. probably works in his favour keeping market price of vnt kits still in the price range of daft and ever increasing. i know he's very busy, a victim of there own sucsess? but fair play to him. think of all other companies that buy kits in bulk from turbotechnics and he's getting a slice of every pie! sorry red90, spelling not my strong point. vulcane, take it controller i posted earlier no good?
  10. all made by turbo technics but stock disabustion is controlled by i believe Ian at IRB.
  11. by the bit missing i assume you mean the circlip? take it there are no split hoses or intercooler? have you checked turbo for excess play in the bearing? may also be worth testing actutor for leaks as this may have casue the wastgate issue. i had to unseize mine 6 mothes ago. complete recon turbos are around £4-500 which you would need is you have waastgate isuue. cartridge are around £120 but appear to be massivly overpriced on evilbay recently, they only come with the centre unit (both turbines and centre bearing unit) no compressor or turbine housing but they should come with seals for the housings/oil feed banjos and oil returns. i think i have a disco200 turbo parts in the shed if you need some parts? hth

  13. ive got these fitted on the front bumper. seems strong but cir clip now very rusty... main purpose is to fill the holes in the bumper.. only issue is cant use striaght bar with them, only time i needed to be recovered was by striaght bar some 10 miles and had to use the standard LR lashing eye and it was fine tho it is sandwiched between chassis and bumper.

  15. yes, it sets min to max boost. which can make it easy to fit and control vnt with out spenig £1200 on a kit. unless you know what actuator they use on them?

  17. nothing wrong with bergan. were next to a supplyer for them and we use them for timing kits etc and all the apprentises tools are bergan. we get them for cost, socket sets are just a few quid.
  18. we got an ultra sonic and a magnetic pulse one (theought the wiring?), its quite old and now the ulta sonic noise is not unltra sonic and just a irratating sound. best method i found envolves a cheese knife... effictive but not a girly technique..
  19. i also got mine from FCX but from defender2 forum. happy with mine. live watch option is usless as they turn it off when its reported stolen. but i do have nightzone option for mine. £11 a month. very helpful on the phone. heritage insurace give them away for free if you take out a policy with them.
  20. ecu you need is something like nnn*****120. remappable defender ecu (manual of corse) .
  21. unless you've changed the governer spring, yours should be standard? 300 is 4600. 200 is 4100-4260 10/19j is 4400. td5 is 4850.
  22. its cant be splines as there is a master spline and can only be fitted in 90deg increments. i assume you have changed the steering arm for the longer one to make up shorter TRE?
  23. isnt richards the only supplier for the D2 chassis? comes with something like a 5K pricetag...
