Problem sorted, took it to a proper garage, someone who knows landrovers, Cyril Groombridge in Heathfield East Sussex, problem found within 5 mins, regulator and wiring loom, both replaced, running sweet now, thanks for everyones input, none of you wide of the mark.

Funningly enough those three lights came on today on one of the stalls but not on any of the other stalling today, might have been all three before but last time I noticed the HDC light I was on my way to catch a plane and was more concerned about getting there, just another thing I have noticed which may have no connection at all is that it seems to stall and hesitate more in Drive than in 4th and have noticed that when you put it into Sport mode the display doesnt alter on the dash just stays on D, but I could be clutching at straws there.

I did an earlier post with the same problem as the diagnosis of the garage was that all 4 injectors had gone, this was considered unusual on this forum and by others outside of it and I was recommended by others to visit a local fuel injection garage who fitted an inline fuel pump as to being the cause, 2 weeks later returned as same problem came back after a week, they then said it probably was the injectors and had it for a couple of days after which they said it wasnt the injectors,will be booking it into a landrover garage soon but in addition to the stalling a couple of times the hill descent light has come on the dash and the engine will not fire for a couple of minutes after stalling, any connection, and anyone got any ideas what it is

Never heard of leather paint before, thats a great idea for, will try that, thanks.

Have just noticed the leather has worn away allowing white to show through on the bottom side of the seat in line with the hips where the leather has worn, imagine it will only get worse, are there any running repairs that can be done, or is it a black shoe polish job.

Blimey, never thought I would be able to answer a question on the forum, Fuel Burning Heater, know what it does, dont ask me to explain it.

As you came up trumps on my last post how about this one. I had a 04 TDi HSE before my present 55 same model. I had the heated front windscreen and definately an FBH on the 54 as it took me by susprise the first time I saw it. I have read here that the heated front windscreen dissapeared on the facelift but should the FBH still be there as I cant find any evidence of an exhaust on this one. I also had an HSE logo on the 54 but not on this one, coupled with my first post as to missing bonnet letters I'm now wondering what I have got, says HSE on the V5 doc.

Well, followed the advise from the forum and went to a recommended diagnonis specialist who could not believe all four injectors had gone and came up with the same ideas sugested here, it was the in line fuel pump which has now been replaced and running now as it should, more worrying is the original garage did a full service at the same time as the diagnostic, what didnt they do but charged for, I could have gone with their suggestion and been out of pocket for a grand and still had the problem.

Just re read your post, have had trouble starting once after it cut out, A A attended and no fault code showed up and he put it down to no pressure.

A local 4x4 garage with experience of freelanders, though first time I have used them, you are not the first to say never heard of 4 having to be replaced at same time, would you suggest a second opinion. It is an intermittent fault though they did say it is misfiring on one with some white smoke.

My TD4 has done 49k on a 55 plate, when I bought it 8 momths ago it had done 31k, recently I had problems of it cutting out so had a diagnostic done with the result of 4 injectors having excessive leakage and requiring replacement, would that be normal for all 4 to have gone at once and on that mileage. I am deaf so would not have picked up on rough running before that. I have a warranty with it but doubt this would be covered.

I may have started a new I spy game for the kids, missing L/R from the bonnets of black Freelanders, I have seen a few now, thanks for the input.
