  1. Yes the lightweight is already a 2.25 petrol, five bearing and standard as far as i can tell. The gearbox is standard with both 4 wheel drive and low ratio levers. I'm not getting the box from the 90 since that is a permanent four wheel drive. I believe that the engine is a 2.25 although one of the responses I've got says that the 90's all had the 2.5. I'll try and find out from the guy who's selling it exactly what it is.
  2. I have a Series 3 lightweight and take my hardtop off every summer, generallly single handed. you can split the roof off from the sides to make it an easier lift. It takes about 2 hours all up allowing for undoing all the bolts holding the roof to the sides. You can save about half an hour by leaving the roof conencted and getting a friend to help lift.   3. Hi I'm new to this so I'm looking for any advice on whether this is easy and straightforward and any likely problems that may arise. Any help will be appreciated.
