  5. Large site suitable for all levels of experience - as challenging as you wish to make it. Sand, Sand and more deep sand with intermittent deep water! Any level of off roader will enjoy this military site. Boundary points will be described by marshals on the day and may be barrier taped - please do not cross these. Do not touch the tanks!! Care does need to be taken in some areas as sand can be very soft and deceptively difficult to drive, likewise water may disguise sinking sand. If in doubt walk it first. We recommend vehicles have suitable recovery points, front and rear. As with all our events individuals should bring their own recovery gear. Great Family day out with good visibility for spectators. 9. I have a 110 V8 with 265 Goodyear MTR's and I'm very happy with them my other choice was BFG MT's but i my set came up at the right price my only regret is I didn't go for 285's like most of the camels seem to have. Julian
  10. Mannington can be more tecnicly challenging as I have been demonstrating but getting so stuck it took two hours to get me out Thanks to mods for updating the title.

  12. I have just bought a P38 4lt 2001 with around 100k on the clock the shocking thing is the trip was recording 18.3mpg over the last 3000 miles which I was well happy with then this morning I must hve reset it which noticing or it automaticly does at 3000 miles thismorning it was averaging 21.5mpg which for my driving is a shock I assume it will droop back down to 18 again. the thing is I was assuming that it was so high because it had not adjusted to my flat out driving style and that in reality it was doing around 13mpg like my old one used to do so I didn't want to rest the trip meeter fearing the mpg would not be as good.(if any of that makes sence) It goes for an LPG kit to be fitted at the end of the month as its my new daily driver from Southampton to Bournemouth everyday
  13. I know its not the same but I fitted a set on mediums duty Terrafirma shocks and springs allround to my 110 CSW and I'm well happy with it they have been on for well over six months. sits nicely and handles as well which being a V8 is always nice.
  14. Not only that very few are compitant enough to get close to the test drivers time.
  15. I have just gone back to a 4.0lt Range Rover after having a Td5 D2 for 6 years I drove the new to me RR home a 50 mile drive from the top to bottom of the M3 at around 90 all the way following my wife in her car and the trip was showing 18.3 mpg when I left as when I pulled onto my drive it was on 18.4mpg and after my 40mile drive to work this morning its still in 18.4mpg it should be off to have a LPG kit fitted next week. My wifes last car was a 4.6 hse with 65k on it but that only managed 13mpg she could get 17mpg but I never managed it. I must admit anything above 20mpg I would struggle to believe still running through a LR drive 4x4 train
  16. Disco's are very expensive to insure I have just bought another Range rover replacing my D2 as my everyday driver but last week I was looking at a ML AMG 55 and my wife thinking it would put the stops on it said what will a black 360bhp ML cost to insure well £200 a year less than a Td5 ES D2 I ended up with the 51 plate RR4lt HSE which was £150 cheaper than the Disco 2. go figure...
  17. I went along it was ok but a bit thin on the ground but its a heraitage thing not a proper show.
  18. I am well only because the wife has disided to go to a Hourse show so I get to but I will have to take my two dogs so if you see a guy struggling with two black labs trying to eat any other dog they see do say hello. My Co-drivers dad organises the run so he is up there with the family and he phone me thismorning to see if I wanted to go up.
