  1. It was the side windows, I might have put brackets on wrong way round, as I found that the easiest way of fitting brackets as they wouldn't fit the way round that they were meant to go, for whatever reason. The vehicle is a factory fitted station wagon, so is not a case that it's been modified with wrong parts. I did find that I had to drill new holes for mounts at bottom as there was only one excisting place to bolt the bracket and that didn't line up either. I still have to do the right hand window yet so maybe that will work out better,
  2. I've just fitted a set of mobile storage systems internal window guards to my 1994 CSW defender. Did anyone else have trouble fitting them as I have had to cut the facia paneling which goes around the window, I had to cut the paneling where the window guards are bolted to allow paneling to get flush with body work.
  3. On my defender the Megane seats are bolted to the original seat frames, my original seat frames have that u channel already on them,
  4. I have movement in my right hand front hub, I originally thought it was bearing and have tightened this up, this got rid of 12-6 movement, but I still have movement 9-3 (side to side) there is no movement in track rod ends or steering drop arm, Can any body through any light on this, am thinking about changing bearings to see if this helps, although if it's tight 12-6 shouldn't it be ok 3-9?
  5. Ok, that's cleared it up, thank you.
  6. Unbolt along top side, you'll find bolts along roof where roof meets side panels, and then unbolt at base, both ends and rear corner, three bolts in total at bottom, then slide sides out whilst supporting roof, and then slide new sides with windows in
  7. Jack up one front wheel of 110, and I can turn wheel and front prop whilst handbrake is on and in low/high ratio, is this ok, or is it a transfer box fault.
  8. Been offered a early 110 transfer box that was original fitted to a lt77, and when removed had only covered 67000 miles. I will renew gaskets, and check bearings etc. Many thanks for the info guys,
  9. Would a transfer box that was original fitted to a LT77 fit an R380
  10. When replacing a defender transfer box, what other parts would be best to change, Cross drilled transfer box gear?
  11. Would be easier just to get a second hand pair of sides with windows per fitted,
  12. Can't decide wether to upgrade my standard defender transfer box to one out of a discovery, I currently run on BFG 265/75 Looking at info on the web, it seems like you only get benefit if you are running on standard tyres, as some people reckon that the larger tyres are similar to the gearing ratios that I'd expect to achieve, I currently do about 400+ miles per week, on road. What are your thoughts on it,
  13. Can you give me the length of them please. are they the two or three seater ones?
