  1. cheers jcwcooper : will ring tomorrow - I have another LT230 from A Range Classic - as the rear output bearing race was chewed something unpleasant - think to swap the cases - then of course the issue of Ration tags cheers:
  2. Mates : managed the LT230 break down - I see the output bearing gone - masticated - as is speedo drive gear - speedo gear as well is missing chunks - high low sleeve may need replacing - who to contact for these internals ? cheers in advance
  3. Cheers Mates : Genius board - always get good responses here .. cheers thanks for the redirection posts - the fork rework is exactly what I was thinking on next got some reading to do ............
  4. Cheers Mates : say Maverik - I run my truck in the desert - lots of unpaved roads - trails only atvs sometimes attempt - not to mention pulling a moteur to get the gearbox down - I enjoy the work - not the time without a truck - like the rear main seal ( Britpart ) I re purchased with Genuine LR - rather do other work than have to re do something because I went cheap - or its weak /not up to snuff for what I ask the machine to do - I am new to this board - only means my attention is rebuilding another vehicle - good to hear from the mates well schooled on the current happenings - surprised BritPart still has bad reports behind such essential bits As I mentioned - my LT77 was recently rebuilt by the LR gearbox meister on this side of the pond - got an R380 case to install gearbox oil cooler lines like the stock R380 - never had a gearbox succumb to heat like this - so I seek out durable parts - know of course you pay for quality and hope to get the durability - we average 45º C here - not to mention the pavement radiating back the heat - durability is paramount cheers:
  5. cheers Landy'd Gentry: exactly - I do have some BritPart parts - but for rear main oil seal - I spent the £'s for Genuine LR - I pulled the engine to get the gearbox out - even if it was an easy chore - still I like quality parts - just surprised to hear BritPart still has big complaints on essential pieces cheers:
  6. Mates : Been browsing - hear some discussion on a heavy duty clutch . I have read a few things on other site - anyone have an opinion to share - one thing I feel is stay away from Britpart - even the HD clutch Can a TD5 clutch fit my 200 Tdi/LT77 ? cheers in advance
  7. As I thought - and glad I asked I will seek an AP or Valeo cheers:
  8. Mates : looking to replace clutch with install of rebuilt gearbox - Is Britpart a good clutch or not so good I am in a hot climate - but a dry heat rather spend a bit and get good quality - anyone comments ? cheers in advance
  9. Hallo Mates : I will soon have an R380 ( Ashcroft ) to install - replacing the LT77 -I seek to put an oil cooler on the R380 - anyone know where I might find one second hand I understand these are backordered from LR right now - no telling when will arrive - dont have an issue with second hand as long as in good shape just read the Wolfs had a proper gearbox oil cooler as to the recirculate tube on other models - so where might I find second hand wolf parts / cheers in advance
  10. Hallo Western : Cheers for these schematics - will help much cheers :
  11. Hallo Western : Yes - heated windscreen - 3 contacts - I believe one is negative and the 2 opposed are positive - want to be sure . Not certain Civi Defenders came with the same heated screen as MOD cheers:
  12. Hallo mates : Managed a pre 87 lt230 transfer case out of a Range Rover now I must rebuild my LT 77 - any suggestions on where to look for rebuild kit - if there is a rebuild kit cheers in advance
  13. Hallo Mates : Are there any ex MOD defenders on here ? have some questions on windscreen wiring cheers
  14. Mates : current LT77 is gone - sound chewed up inside can I swap in an appropriate R380 to current bellhousing - or do I need a new bellhousing and gearbox? cheers in advance :
  15. Howdy Folks: 86 ExMOD 90 200 Tdi LT77 gearbox - and is screaming now in 5th at highway speeds Do anyone have Timkin or Spicer bearing no's for these and incase I require more - gears , shafts , syncro's - suggestions - who to look for these Usually deal with Pacific British - dont carry alot for LT77 parts: Cheers:
  16. howdy Mates: Just to add - Filters are exclusive- Baldwin -great filters
  17. Howdy Jules: I ask opinions - even biased - and check if there is anything negative written about - race proven says alot to me Cheers ya:
  18. Howdy mates: Exactly :pay for the Quality - why i want genuine for the water pump - as I am living in the desert sometimes 44º Do you say that Bearmach makes genuine? Ancillaries for me should be of very good quality if not genuine- water pumps always genuine - most things internal - with perhaps exception to rings and valves if there was better quality/performance available with good reputation Cheers:
  19. Howdy Les: Sorry mate - haven't had my tea yet So far I have yet to find a genuine LR water pump on the 4 sites I have visited - is there a Direct LR parts online order place you might direct me to - Water pump I will like Genuine LR - here the internet has become huge for direct parts - Nissan for example is usually very costly - yet I order parts on internet and they come direct from Dealer at 40% savings helps now especially now that the dollar is worth .01$ Cheers ya
  20. Howdy Lee: you speak of Bearmach having a shake up or Genuine LR- over parts quality ? And hopefully not as bad as B**tPart. I have a new old stock water pump for the 200Tdi - and I am thinking it may be B**part - should get a genuine by spring are there any good discount LR parts suppliers that will post to USA - that you might know? Cheers ya:
  21. Howdy Diesel Jim: I usually order all my parts - usually from UK - so waiting is the game I always play I only know AllMakes and B**Tparts - and the latter I do not care for - besides genuine LR - I will order genuine but for now my lift pump needs attention right quick primarily I use B99- B75 - B50 in winter - so diaphragm material is important - I will like to think Genuine is supplying Viton or something as rugged to stand up to ULSD - not shrink and dry out Cheers ya
  22. Howdy Folks; What is the story on Bearmach parts - how do they fare with B**tPart , Allmakes and genuine LR Cheers ya
  23. Howdy Mates: Cheers ya for the replies: I see the Allmakes on a few UK web sites- wondering if the one I found on eBay is worth anything? Bleed lines have already been replaced - I'll scout for the Allmakes and see who will post to me enjoy weeks end Cheers:
  24. Howdy mates: LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 200TDI DIESEL FUEL http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ME:B:EF:GB:1123 This is what I see on eBay - a brand i am not aware of from Spain : sure looks different that what is there now - dunno of the quality / durability - anyone know something more i will ask the seller when he purchased these / how long they have been on the shelf If anyone can elaborate - please to ya : Cheers:
  25. Howdy Mates ; Cheers ya for the reply : I have in the past purchased some ALLMAKES parts for Nissan - mostly belts if you say they are almost as good as genuine LR parts - I will take your recommendation - have not been happy with much of the past B...Part parts I know all the diesel on your side of pond is USLD for 4-5 years now No? - if the lift pumps can handle that - will handle Bio better - only really noticed a problem lately when I have been forced to mix my fuels - last 3-4 weeks - yet they say the pump I am getting my Dino Diesel is not USLD - yet all things mechanical say otherwise - second issue I have now -2 separate vehicles Cheers ya for your conciderations
